John McCain just spent the last 90 minutes sitting across from the next president of the United States, and he knew it. And he wasn't pleased.

McCain needed a game-changer, and he didn't get it. Obama was smart, calm, collected, even feisty when necessary - at his core, Obama was presidential. McCain was angry, annoyed, frustrated, and cocky. The snorts, the heavy breathing, the eye rolls. McCain didn't go on the attack enough to hurt Obama, and didn't come back home to his former maverick status enough to convince the middle that he's not a risk. Watching CNN, undecided women hate McCain. And they may very well be the group that decide this election.

Obama showed tonight, yet again, that he's the bright, hopeful future of our country. McCain showed that his time is past. There is simply no contest.

Hahahhaha...someone on CNN just called McCain 'Grumpy McNasty'. Hilarious.

I have to confess...I did not watch...yet. It is kind of like watching ice skating in the Olympics for me--I'm so afraid someone is going to fall I can't take it.

(I sure enjoyed reading your comments, though.)

So just tell me, as objectively as you can, how did they do? Was there a clear winner?

I agree. I think he should have been the CBS news anchor, not Katie Couric.

I would say Obama did best, although McCain got the bes soundbite 'I am not George Bush. If you wanted to run against Bush you should have done it four years ago'. You just know he was waiting for the opportunity to pull that one out. But it didn't win McSqurimy, McGrumpy the debate. He was all over the map and apparently thinks Palin's son has autism, not Downs.

Well since everyone who posts are liberal Obama supporters then there is no objectivity here, you will have to go to another message board for that. And there are plenty out there that are objective, not completely one sided which gets really old.

I don't think there was a clear winner, just like the last two debates.

But if I had to pick a winner, I'd say Obama (shocking I know). Obama had the right tone and tenor, and McCain was just snarky, angry and condescending, as usual. But I like the way Obama handled the Ayers & ACORN issue. He just said let's clarify it and get it out of the way. McCain spent too much time trying to drag it out.

And calling everybody who supports Obama a 'liberal' just screams objectivity. I'm sure Sean Hannity will blow this thing wide open, too, right?

I think McCain started out okay but unravelled at the end. I'm sure he was waiting to throw out the I'm not Bush remark. But ultimately he came across looking angry and stiff.

Obama was on the defensive in the beginning but as the debate went on he spoke about the issues and was much more clear, concise and focused.
