I can see it now. A woman is scheduled to have a baby shower, but goes into premature labor. The shower is then renamed a fetus shower, because she gave birth to an 8 month fetus. Oh, it's healthy & it'll live all right, but it's won't be a baby for 2 more months.

    The announcements read:

Bill & Belinda would like to announce the arrival of their male fetus, Bobby!
Bobby will be a baby in 2 months. Until then, we're gonna try him out & see if we like him. If we don't, we're going to kill him. But it's ok! He's not really a baby!

Well then you can go hug all the masses of dividing cells in every pregnant womans uterus, and try to rescucitate all those skin cells you shed every day.
Come on Grimm, you can do better than that. You know we're not talking about the early stages of pregnancy. We are talking about fetuses who can & do live outside the womb. Stay with me here.

Or the bearer of what could, potentially, be a human being that isn't yet. Heaven forbid said walking uterus should have an opinion or choice in who controls her body.
When you're talking about a viable human being, they too have rights. There are many many people who think it's perfectly acceptable to have sex with their own children. They firmly believe that it's their child, and they have that right. Do we allow these scumbags to do this, because they ARE after all, their children? Of course not. The children are MORE than just offspring of those people. They are viable human beings with rights, and no one has the right to harm them.

These fetuses we're discussing are also viable. If they weren't murdered on their way out of their evil mothers, they would be quite alive. They are more than just offspring of those people. They are viable human beings with rights, and no one has the right to harm them.

This is essentially a NON issue that people who want to control women use to introduce anti-choice legislation and use as PROPOGANDA.
My point is that, if you must take a baby at 8 months to save the mother, why kill it, if it can live on its own?

Actually, Lobelia, that first part was really funny. Sounds like one of those wierd futuristic novels. I understand what you're saying. But late term abortions are not what most pro-choice types are defending. When a woman is six weeks pregnant, she's not 'killing' a viable entity. Most abortion supporters I know--in fact all when I think about it--do not support late term abortions unless there exist extreme circumstances.

Thank you. That's all I'm trying to get across, myself. I seriously don't understand how anyone could support it.

DEAR GOD, you are all going to hell!

Here is your one and only option to be PRO CHOICE...Either open your legs, or don't. You can do either one, I won't make you have sex or turn it down. You can fuck to your hearts content. THERE is your choice. Don't tell me that accidents happen. It only REALLY happens to an overwhelming minority, the others are just too lazy or stupid to be responsible for the results of having sex (and probably shouldn't be reproducing anyway). Hell, just have the baby! It will give BRANGELINA something to do!

Actually, I'm married, was on the pill and very ill with a condition that my doctor assured me would make it nearly impossible for me to get pregnant. Mr. butt's super-sperm somehow penetrated all those defenses and I turned up pregnant one day. It happens. But to suggest that no one should have sex unless they want a baby is absurd. We do, after all, have certain biological itches/urges that need a good seeing to every so often. Or else we could be hypocrites and go back to the fifties and pretend everyone's a virgin when they marry. Or better yet, let's reintroduce Victorian-era thinking. And no, I don't think I'm going to hell, if it even exists.

Note: if your comment was sarcastic, disregard the above.

Yeah, there seems to be cognitive dissonance concerning the issue of sex..

What SHOULD happen, according to certain stupid parties

    Vs.

What ACTUALLY happens, outside in this thing we call reality.

Legislating sex, or trying to control it, NEVER WORKS. You can't stop teenagers from fucking, or adults, or anybody else.

But Grimm, if you just close your legs it won't happen to you. Of course, now that I think about that reasoning (hehehehe) it puts it all on the female half of the couple. What about men/boys keeping it in thier pants? We ladies can't get knocked up without the help of the men.

You could hook it up to these piston driven 'fucking machines' that I've seen in porn videos. It's freaky.

I suggest you go back to 1952. I think you'd be very comfortable there. Oh, and FYI:
