I know, it doesn't even make sense. How does abortion destroy the traditional family?

Omg, i had an abortion.. now all traditional families are null and void!

    Totally agree

Sojita, dakodas original comment was directed at me, and insinuates that I thought late term abortions are provided on demand for no reason. I responded to that. I stated something to the effect that, if a baby is being "aborted" at 8 months to save the mother, why does the baby have to be killed?

Do you have a problem with my stance here?

You can use sarcasm and be a smartass all day, the end result will still be that you are not using viable arguments...smells like you recently pulled it out of your ass.
He is using very good arguments..and there is a difference between an 8 month old fetus that is viable and sustainable outside of a womb, and a recently fertilized egg that is little more that a small mass of replicating cells. He is obviously referring to the latter when discussing the skin cells. Get a clue!~

^^^Yes, but the topic of the thread is late term abortions, so the skin cell reference was irrelevant, at best.

    Maybe I'm on ignore.

This "anti-choice" bs has also been addressed.

Pro-lifers, in the strictest sense, are not anti-choice. You won't understand where they're coming from until you understand this:

They believe that babies are being killed. Otherwise, they wouldn't give 2 hoots about what women do with their bodies.

Pro-choice people condemn pro-life people for being intrusive & meddlesome, but if you believe babies are being killed, how can you stand back & say nothing?

If I saw my neighbor raising up his golf putter to bash in his baby's head, I would intervene. Would you think me wrong? Pro-lifers strongly believe that the soon-to-be-aborted fetus is a baby with a golf putter over its head.

Whether or not you agree that the fetus is a baby is another issue.

Pro-lifers condemn pro-choice people for being selfish, unfeeling, irresponsible, evil murderers. But if you sincerely don't believe that you're killing a baby, but removing cells or whatever instead, why is that wrong?

Dammit, I say this over & over. Neither side is evil. I daresay that 99% of everyone on both sides would rather the issue just disappear, and there not be a problem. Sane reasonable people do NOT want to control others bodies, nor do they want to kill babies.

However. You halfway pull out a viable fetus & kill it, then you are a murderer. I don't give a damn about what any ticket-writing cop says.
Sorry Lobelia but your whole argument is based on a flawed premise..that 'babies' are being killed. Because some people believe 'babies' are being killed does not mean that babies are actually being killed. Not including late-term abortions, these aborted 'babies' are not babies at all..and I think your example of the baby and the golf putter is absurd. How about someone standing over a small barely visible to the human eye lump of cells with a golf putter?..Would that look like murder? Why do the 'pro lifers' always picture the 'unborn' as a smiling little toddler rather than a lump of cells? Which would most resemble the end result of your average abortion?

I'd like someone to find me a doctor that does late-term abortions when the mother and fetus are perfectly healthy.

Sojita, please. If you give birth to an 8 month fetus, it would very likely survive. Pulling it out partway & killing it is killing the same organism that would have survived, had you not killed it.

The premise is definitely not flawed. We are talking about VIABLE fetuses here, not globs of cells. Can't you see the difference? Or do you view all fetuses as globs of cells until they are completely out & allowed to live?
