Whoever the groups are for pulling people from other places to drive and protest these meetings need to get a life and some sanity. They make me sick with their "God this, and Obama that" STFU and die if you won't want new healthcare!!!

THe only way a true single-payer system would pass here in the US would be for big pharma to go under first. If that happened, the economy would have to be at a free-for-all depression wise. Meaning for change to happen, we have to lose everything first. A testament to how much this country has it;'s ball tightened due to the fucking corps.

    *sigh*
    Exactly. Sad, but true.

Exactly! Frustrating thing is that it seems to be catching on with a number
of retards of the general public who are now making it their life task: disrupt
    townhall meetings.

They just want their voice heard, and they want to know what is being said in the meeting. If the tables were turned...This is only going to get worse Im afraid. There are protestors all over Baywalk and they are there everyday, its crazy. These are for the most part, middleclass Americans that already have insurance. People are scared, they are getiing all kinds of information. alot of it false. They dont know whats going to happen and they are feaking out. They want their voice heard, thats not whining. How would any of us feel if we didnt know what the heck was going to happen to our healthcare and you werent allowed to have your say, or to hear whats being said.We have been lied to so many times its understandable to feel passionate. And when you feel like you are being pushed out in only fuels the fire.
If they REALLY wanted to know what is being said, they'd ask their question,
express their concerns even, but then STFU to LISTEN to the other side
before forming an opinion. Not just come in, start yelling and never let up!

they're ignorant, racist rednecks just venting. Period. There's no discussion. It's just mindless fucktards.
ITA. Again: I'm across the pond now and for the first time since
Obama became president, I have to explain again why US citizens
are so stupid, don't they know the current system doesn't work?
Don't they care that millions are uninsured as we speak? Don't they

IMO it comes down to the conservative hatred on taxes. The "SOCIALISM!!!" rant is a indriect hit against paying taxes for a government program. They hate the idea of paying out of their wallet for programs those "poor brown people" rely on, even though one less paycheck means that they'll have to go on those programs to survive as well. They don't care if programs help people that need it. or can be improved to help more in this economy, If hit has a tax to it, then they go bonkers and pull God/Jesus/Yahweh/Whoever into it and scream and yell.

I always respond to those tax-hating Republicans to just NOT pay taxes. If you want the IRS to bang against your door because you're a greedy little prick, then go ahead. I'll laugh when they drag your ass to jail for not being a Good American. See if the "SOCIALISM!!11!" card will work when you're taking it up the chute in jail.

Do not pretend the prior conversation never occurred.

    I said:

Domestic groups like Weather underground had no problems bombing for their cause either.
The only extremists in the context of this discussion are the birthers and the Town Hall Terrorists.

There was something in the newspaper today about a town meeting in my city/state and people got all rowdy.

And wtf is up with these "birthers"? Obama is President, get over it already. They seem so petty to me.

    The birthers are crazy.

One birther I know told me that Obama's birth certificate is fake and that he's really a Muslim. I told him that how could his birth certificate be fake if it was authenticated by some on the far right who wanted it to be fake? And I asked him 'how could Obama be a Muslim if he was raised by his white mother and grandparents and had Jeremiah Wright as a Christian pastor for 20 years?'

His response, 'Obama converted because he would do anything to be president.' I was like 'so, he knew 20 plus years ago when he was a community organizer in Chicago that he would be president one day? Talk about thinking ahead.'

Once I mentioned that McCain was born on a military base in Panama and nobody questions his citizenship, he shouts 'McCain's a war hero, and Hawaii's not really a state anyway!'

I just don't get them. If you don't like Obama, he's only there for 4 more years. I put up with Bush for 8 years.

I totally believe that Obama wasn't born in the US. Although there's two different BC's out there, I completely believe both of them are real and the "official" one is bullshit. See, these are the REAL BC's:

The REAL 'long form' BC complete with MUSLIM religion listed:

    And Obama's copy:

    HOW CAN ANYONE DENY THESE!?!?!?!

On Anderson Cooper 360 last night they showed more footage of
interrupted Town Hall meetings and one woman's protest was
"This government is out of control!" to huge cheers of the ignorant
    crowd.
Where were all these boo-yellers, these "concerned about their
pocket books/bank accounts" citizens when that damned Chimpy
McSmirkface administration spent BILLIONS of their tax dollars on
a war that was started on a lie?????
I'd rather be in debt in an attempt to give people HEALTH care
than to be in debt to spread death and mayhem in a fraudulous war!!!!

Ameh HWBL! The amount of money this county has spent on this war that started with lies could have paid for health care for the country 2 fold. That is from someone that has been laid off 3 times since Bush has been in office! All my positions have been outsourced to other counties for tax benefits for these corporations....
It took me 9 months to finally find an insurance that I could afford... this is coming from a state (MA) that requires health insurance for all citizens. I will be billed by the state for not having insurance for those 9 months when I file my taxes next year.
I would much rather have my tax dollars going to health benefits than to the war. AND before anyone calls me out on the war..... I have done my part for the troops out there fighting for our county. I do not and will not EVER blame these brave soldiers for what Curious George started....I have always thanked all the soldiers I have met for what they have sacrificed for this war. I do not blame them.....I blame Curious George for all the lies.

I just checked our information today...We pay $397 a month in premiums for our employer-sponsored healthcare, and DH's work pays the rest. The total is $1500/month for our family. There is no way we could afford COBRA if DH were laid off. I don't understand why people think this private insurance is affordable AT ALL. $400 a month for us, plus another $140/month we put in FSA, and we have still paid out around $2000 in excess of the FSA balance for the copays, coinsurance, and shit that isn't covered. All in all, assuming everything else goes well this year, medical coverage cost us $8500 this year out of pocket for a family of 4 WITH the employer paying the bulk of it.

    It's madness.
