The above is from the Federal Employee's Blue Cross PPO, not the HMO. However, your PPO may have covered it. I think there's a lot of variation in what's covered from region to region. (I read somewhere that NY's Blue Cross covers IVF and other fertility treatments, for example, while many others don't. Don't know if that's true.)

I don't know if this is a change from past years or not (the abortion coverage).

From a business standpoint, why wouldn't insurance companies cover abortion? It costs them less than a hospital stay for childbirth.

Some dont. My point was that IF we had national healthcare and we we had an administration opposed to the practice, that then (hypothetically) there would be NO abortions. And there would be no alternative with no private option available.(excluding perhaps the trip down the stairs option.)

I was being sarcastic, and I'm already Canadian thanks.

And free choice? Do you enjoy some insurance fuckjob telling you what procedures you can have, and what doctors you're ALLOWED to go to?

I go to what doctor i feel like, and I get what procedures I and said doctor determine to be best for me. I don't have anybody telling me what I can and cannot have, medically.

Unless people stop having sex and making babies, abortions aren't going stop, hypothetically or otherwise. Even when abortions were illegal that didn't hypothetically stop people from going to back-alley doctors and getting them.
