    STFU, Palin.

Remember all the times she stood in front of her crowds smiling and winking while people were yelling the N word and KILL HIM about Obama?

This woman is seriously off her rocker.

Up is down, right is left, on is off. Total dingbat.

yeaaaaaaah. that's EXACTLY what would happen. Because countries that have single payer or (gasp) national healthcare have each successive administration telling people what they can and cannot do with their bodies through these programs.

Wait, I don't think that is much of a stretch of imagination. If we get into a position where the doctors work for the goverment, and a right-wing Republican contingent gets in power, they can pass a law forbiding doctors to perform abortions or at the very least, refuse to reimburse for certain services (such as abortion).

Private insurance doesn't cover abortions and they barely cover birth control as it is. You only get vacuuming paid for if you've got something dead in there.

many carriers cover abortion. mine not only covers it for me, but if i had a family plan, it would cover it for my female dependents as well. the last few plans i've had covered it as well - Blue Cross PPO, Cigna and Aetna

Not all Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans cover abortion. For example:

    Not covered:
    • Procedures, services, drugs, and supplies related to
abortions except when the life of the mother would
be endangered if the fetus were carried to term or
when the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape or
    incest
I think it depends on the particular Blue Cross you have.

^ Yes, that's why I noted PPO, I don't think Blue Cross HMO covers it.

However, my original point stands, it's incorrect that private insurance doesn't cover abortions. Like everything, some carriers cover it and some don't.

According to the National Abortion Federation about 2/3 of carriers cover it:
    Q. Does insurance cover the cost of an abortion?
    A. Almost two-thirds of insurance companies cover elective abortion to some degree. Contact your insurance company to find out if you are covered.

In my state, even Medicaid covers abortions, bunch of liberals that we are.
