God I hate to agree with this, but she is right. I have never heard Palin say she could see Russia from her home, or that she herself had ever seen Russia. There are enough scary things that she does say. Her idea that she knows foreign policy because Russia is so close to Alaska is ridiculous enough. If we want to stop the repugs from picking on tiny crap (like 57 states) we need to stick to real complaints. Lord knows there's enough of those.
If I can't be a good example, then let me be a horrible warning.

^ Maybe, but there is a difference between a lie and a mistake with saying the wrong number of states (I must of missed that one...)

Tina Fey was the one who said the "Alaska from my house" thing.

Her exact words are irrelevant. It's that she said that Russia was visible from Alaska to demonstrate that she had foreign policy experience that is the issue.

^ Oh, I know, and I don't agree with that at all.
I was just saying the thread title and this story were incorrect because she never actually said SHE could see Russia from her home.

    Just poking at Grimm.

Whether she said she personally could see Russia from her home or that Russia is visible from Alaska is irrelevant. What is relevant is the context in which the statement in question was made. She was using that to defend her "foreign affairs" experience. When the statement is viewed contextually, it is absolutely ridiculous.

Personally, I don't remember her having said she has seen Russia. I remember she made mention that Russia is close to Alaska. Either way, the subject the statement relates to shows just how unqualified she is.
