It's Been a Bad Day for Sarah Palin

Two more interesting, thought provoking articles about Sarah Palin have become available:

First we have Paul Slansky, a New Yorker contributor and writer, with "The Horror! The Horror!" It's a short article and was written to draw reader discussion in the comments:
After a year and a half of exposure to this virulently toxic presence, the question on the table is: In our lifetime, has there ever been a worse human being in American politics than Sarah Palin? For all the morons and criminals and bigots we've been subjected to, has there been anyone else who has combined all of the fetid qualities -- the proud ignorance, the sadistic viciousness, the shameless hypocrisy, the arrogant laziness, the congenital dishonesty, the unctuous sanctimony, the bilious resentment, and whichever others I'm forgetting for the moment -- that this morals-free harridan so relentlessly displays? (Not to mention that atonal bray with which she communicates it all.)
Then we have Stuart Whatley's "The Tea Party Movement Is a National Embarrassment," which effectively contrasts the Tea Party "Movement" with genuine movements in the nation's past:
At its core, the Tea Party movement is rife with contradiction, incoherence and a willful contempt for facts or reason. It is but a parody of the legitimate movements for which American democracy has historically been held in such high regard. It is, in fact, the latest installment in quite another American tradition: The exploitation of frustrated, desperate, and susceptible people by monied interests and profiteers.
Those two, as well as Jeff Schweitzer's "The Hopey Changey Stuff," give us three thoughtful articles in one day, all of them opposed to Sarah Palin. Every one of them touch upon her demagoguery and faux populism, which is what's the matter with her as a politician.

    Palin's Q&A + fun

That piece by Slansky is probably the best description of her I've ever read. At her core there is something vicious and proudly amoral, and how she manages to wrap all that in a blanket of Jesus-ness I will never understand.

Wos! I wonder if there's room in my signature for all this? Jut wow! Fabulous.
