I still can't believe anybody would be against healthcare for all, it just seems fundamentally wrong to me and terribly self-centered.
The sad thing is most of these idiots in the town hall meetings would benefit from it. The GOP is lucky to have so many who just follow whatever they say without doing any real research on their own. The only reason the party is still alive is the brain dead followers.

To those with functioning brains, yes, it's very obvious. To those who watch Glenn Beck & listen to Rush Limbaugh, I'm surprised more of them haven't had coronaries yet.

I swear, the GOP is turning into the American version of the BNP. All the pandering to white voters...and complete nonsense. There isn't going to be much of a Republican party left by 2010.

This is a perfect example of the dumbasses protesting "Obama socialism" (for those who don't live in the US).

    Good lord.

She looks like she is about to cry actually, do you think she knows she's out of her depth? Basically her argument is 'I don't want to pay anymore'

Her comment from 6.50-7.00...WHAT YOU JUST DESCRIBED IS WHAT IS ON OFFER YOU STUPID BITCH!!! Ugh, she really is quite dumb. I inwardly facepalmed several times whilst watching that, thanks for posting that Fluffy, most enlightening.

And these people are arming themselves like crazy in anticipation. Some places can't keep bullets in stock.

I have said before, and this issue really drives it home--The GOP has a vested interest in keeping the masses uneducated, ignorant, sick, and poor. That way they are more desperate, more malleable, and easier to manipulate.

I actually felt sorry for all of us when I saw this. She was so confident when she had the other idiots cheering her on but when there were no applause, she realized that she was on her own and that she truly was an idiot. I just kept shaking my head when I realized that she didn't even know we had some "socialism" in the USA already. What a dumb pig!

Wow, he brutalized her! But gently. That was awesome.

Anyway, this will not end well. The chickens are coming home to roost from a shitty public education system. You can't have a well-functioning democracy with such shitty education. Of course, you've got a cycle of poverty partly borne from sheer stupidity and partly borne from a culture that does not value education. That will always exist. But for most others, they are never taught in school how to THINK. How to think critically, to evaluate information, to be skeptical, to understand context, to research, to do comparative analysis. Much less to understand historical and economic concepts. School, to most people, is about rote memorization and just getting through. Thus, you have sheep who blindly parrot rumors, misinformation, and propaganda out of fear of change. And yes, it happens on both sides of the aisle. It just so happens that now it's becoming so much more volatile with a mix of fearmongering about "losing all our rights" and "socialism." Mix in the lovely wingnut standbys of guns and racism, and the shit is going to hit the fan.

These nutjobs started arming themselves the day after the election, because Obama was going to 'take our guns.'

Palin Keeps Up The "Death Panel" Attack

    By Eric Kleefeld - August 13, 2009, 9:26AM

Sarah Palin is sticking to her point about the death panels -- with footnotes!

In a new Facebook post entitled "Concerning the 'Death Panels,'" Palin further explores her insistence that the health care bill's provisions for voluntary counseling on end-of-life decisions constitutes a government plan to get rid of undesirable patients.

"With all due respect, it's misleading for the President to describe this section as an entirely voluntary provision that simply increases the information offered to Medicare recipients," Palin says. "The issue is the context in which that information is provided and the coercive effect these consultations will have in that context."

She later adds: "Is it any wonder that senior citizens might view such consultations as attempts to convince them to help reduce health care costs by accepting minimal end-of-life care?"

Note, however, that many of Palin's footnotes are to other people's statements of opinion, which in turn don't create anything that approximated Palin's original statement: "The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."

So the real question for evaluating her statement, is whether counseling on end-of-life decisions -- which patients are not required to go through -- constitutes a "death panel" that would condemn a senior citizen or Palin's baby to death by depriving health care.
