Bill playing the sax on Arsenio was a great moment.

I can't remember a sitting president doing a late-night show. But I'm sure part of this trip to Letterman is PR damage control to help boost Obama poll numbers.

And knowing Dave, he'll work Palin into the conversation, and then the next day she'll throw a tantrum on Facebook about how Obama the terrorist was palling around with Dave the pervert to talk about her underage kids.

Obama already did The Tonight Show with Leno earlier in the year.

He should stop worrying about PR, and start worrying about being a real leader of his party, and a President.

He needs to take a lesson from LBJ, and use the bully pulpit he has as President and his experience in legislative politics (oh yeah, he doesn't have that) and push a real reform healthcare bill through.

The civil rights bill was filibustered for 54 days, and was way more opposed than healthcare reform. LBJ was able to get it passed, by twisting arms and calling in favors.....and by actually being a leader.

True. But I think he did Leno in the middle of the Stimulus Package Debate and now he's doing Letterman during the middle of the Healthcare Debate. I don't think that's a coincidence. Plus, the PR/poll numbers angle.
