    pretty much all presidents have done it. it's not like they can go all modern and completely transform the place but they are allowed to alter the place so it's more to their liking, choose the stuff that has to be replaced, etc.

    I think there's the public spaces and the private spaces. The private spaces are redecorated with every administration - since they do actually live there.
