OK i'm just a dumb Canuck, but how does invoking Lincoln show that they are not racist? Wasn't he white?

They bring up Lincoln since he freed the slaves, so they figure that proves that they aren't racist. But what they don't know, or forget, is that Lincoln was just as big a racist as they are. Lincoln stated that he believed the white race should always be in a position of superiority and the black race should always be in a position of inferiority. So bringing up Lincoln doesn't mean squat.
