Maybe they are leading up to a convention or pre-convention scenario where Santorum anoints Mitt as the candidate and pledges his delegates, or whatever.

In any case, so far in this primary season I have seen 2 things I never thought I'd see--Gingrich as a serious contender for the GOP nomination, and Santorum as the same. Both, but especially Santorum, make me wonder wtf is going on with this country.

And by the way, do these people believe that only straight men are allowed to have sex? I'm starting to get that impression.

I suppose the thing that scares me the most is the focus on social issues as opposed to the fiscal issues that most modern day conservative republicans tout as their party platform. We can disagree on fiscal policy, we can have opposing views on how taxes should be collected and disbursed and in the end, most of us wouldn't be able to tell a real difference in the outcome...most of us middle class folks that is. But, when suddenly the focus is on moral issues and one party is adamant that their view is the only acceptable view, suddenly it becomes not about compromise but about forcing your religious or moral views and standards on others. Lets debate fiscal policy, international policy, health care, etc, but for Christs' sake, lets not try to condemn other people for who they are. I am terrified that this Santorum guy might get more traction...if not now, then in the next cycle.

No, they are the only ones allowed to enjoy sex. The rest of us (women or gay) should just bare it at their convenience.

After the Komen/Planned Parenthood crap and now this, I am appalled at the outright assault on women's rights in this country right now. Virginia has passed a law that a woman has to have a vaginal ultrasound on file before she can have an abortion. Other states are in the process of passing similar laws. Virginia is a damn purple state! How can they let this happen? Where are the women's groups protesting this shit?

I dunno, maybe Santorum is being set up as the straw man, where Mitt can come in and disagree with him about contraception and it will look like Mitt's standing up for women to get Republican women to rally around him.

And notice how nicely the pedophilia cases have been swished out of the news cycle?

ETA: I just realized that when I was in 7th grade back in the 1970s (yeah I'm old), that's what our gym teacher told us to do. Put an aspirin between our legs. Yeah, asshole, that's really helpful. Like we need more ignorance.

For me, birth control isn't about sex, it's about reproductive control. It's about girls graduating from high school and making it through college. It's about guys not having to quit school to support babies they didn't want in the first place. It's about people getting married because they want to, not because they have to. It's about couples not having more kids than they can afford to raise. God I hate these douche-bags and I wonder why they want to go back to the stone age.

Well, to keep women out of the workplace and back at home in the kitchen where they belong, of course.
