John Edwards caught with mistress and love child!

“Strike former US Senator John Edwards from the VP hopefuls list. The National Enquirer secretly stalked Edwards with investigative reporters — much like the famous Miami Herald/Gary Hart encounter in 1987 — until they apparently caught him sneaking out of his purported girlfriend’s room in a Los Angeles hotel at 2:40 am on Tuesday morning.

The newspaper again reported Edwards is the father of the woman’s infant child. Edwards’ wife Elizabeth is terminally ill with cancer. According to the newspaper, Edwards snuck in through a side entrance, then went downstairs to avoid the lobby and grab an elevator up, and then reversed the move when leaving.

When the reporters ambushed Edwards upon leaving the room, he ran into a basement bathroom and remained holed up there for 15 minutes until hotel security was summoned to escort out the reporters. In any instance, Edwards will now be eliminated from any serious VP consideration.

To be fair, he didn't use his wife as an excuse when he dropped out-he was mathematically shut out of the delegate count because he wasn't winning any primaries.

However, I think this story is true. There is too much detail to the story-none of this "sources say" "witnesses say", the reporter himself witnessed the events- and I don't think the Enquirer would put this out there against one of the toughest litigators in the country unless they had the goods.

Fuck.

Yeah you're right Sasha. He was never the right candidate in the first place. Good looks can only get you so far, even in America LOL

I think he's fugly. That used car salesman/preacher comb over is just not right.

As opposed to '04, I actually liked him this time around. His agenda was far and away more progressive than Clinton's or Obama's. I liked what he had to say about the evils of corporate power and how it needed to be taken on. The media, being owned by giant media conglomerates, engaged in a blackout of coverage of him:

DKos.

It's no wonder he couldn't catch a break in the primaries, but now I guess it may have been a good thing. If this had come out after he had gotten the nom, he'd be dead meat.

I can hardly wait until the mainstream press comes out with this. Everytime I mention something like this people always say "where did you read that" When I tell them the Enquirer they laugh it off. The Enquirer has been sued so much they are pretty careful now. Also a few weeks or months later, sure enough whatever they reported will be in the mainstream press.

A friend of mine has some people visiting him from Santa Monica and they work for the Enquirer, and he was telling me that they were going crazy over this story, and saying that there was more to come. We'll see, I guess.

I remember last year there was a story that the L.A. times was sitting on a big story about a politician and an affair. I bet this was it. They still won't run it. I'm a dem and I don't see why this would hurt us, it hurts Edwards not Obama. Poor Elizabeth.
