After explaining to my son (8) why a lot of people are marching today he asked me if he, too, could wear a pink hat.

Trump’s First Official White House Petition Is Sure To Enrage Him

President Trump has just received his first White House petition, and it’s surely going to infuriate him. In the space of a few hours, internet user A.D.’s demand that Donald Trump release his tax returns to the public reached nearly 140,000 signatures, far more than the amount needed for it to be sent to the President, where it will be almost certainly ignored. Trump has publicly promised he will release his tax returns on several occasions; on others, he has punted and declared that he “can’t” since they are under audit by the IRS, as they apparently are every year, which is a clear indicator of some kind of financial misconduct. Breaking with a tradition observed by every single president since Pres. Harry Truman, Donald “Show Me The Birth Certificate” Trump has fought tooth and nail to keep his own records from a very curious public and media.

The petition reads as follows: “The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution.”

Trump’s tax returns are believed to contain evidence that not only does Trump not pay any federal income tax but also extensive business connections to the Russian Federation. Either way, his refusal to release his taxes is a clear sign that he is hiding enormous conflicts of interest that could prevent the easily manipulatable and validation-seeking Trump from acting in the our nation’s best interests rather than his own. This will be the first of many angry petitions to hit the desk of the tiny-fisted vulgarian and by all means, we must keep them coming!
You may sign the petition here.

Love all the photos from the marches over the world. Huge turnout for them. Something positive amongst all this other rubbish that's happening.

14 powerful photos that show the unity of women's marches around the world

As hundreds of thousands of demonstrators gathered in Washington, D.C. on Saturday for the Women's March, thousands more gathered at sister marches across the globe. From Australia and Peru to Lebanon and Malawi — even as far as Antarctica — marchers joined in to speak out against sexism, racism and attacks on equality in the U.S. and around the world.
The official count as of Saturday afternoon was 673 women's marches in total — across all seven continents and in every corner of the globe. Here are some of the powerful images showing just how widespread and united the women's movement was on Saturday.
Marchers moved towards the U.S. consulate in Amsterdam on Saturday.

But the biggest march by far was in D.C., where the estimated attendance was half a million and growing by Saturday afternoon.

They hustled Trump out of DC to Langley to meet with the very people that he has pissed off. He babbled about his Time cover, the MLK bust and the 1 million people at his inauguration.

He is a buffoon. It's terrifying. He is comparable to Kim Jong Il in the arrogant over-whelming insecurity.

Right now Trump's toolbag Communications Director is about 45 minutes late to start a "statement". The prediction is that he is going to tell the world how successful and bigly the crowds were at the inauguration.

The people that were clapping are flunkies that he brought with him.
