I actually heard a guy who was probably in his early 20s make a statement that he wasn't going to marry a woman who wanted to stay home & raise kids, she was going to get her a** to work. That is a sad statement. It has become an expectation of many men that the wife is automatically going to have a job, and raise kids, and keep house, and cook the majority of meals, and do the bulk of the laundry, kids projects etc.

That is not fair to women or children.

Well, the basic tenet of feminism is gender EQUALITY!

And btw, I am totally surprised that this thread has gone on this long. i did not start it just to stir the pot. I do believe feminism has hurt the average woman.

I asked for an IP check in isle 3 though.

I'm gonna go eat some chinese takeout leftover. Made my hubby pay for Chinese dinner last night and we got into a fight cuz he sucks at ordering! He choses the crappiest stuff! So all I had was basically just fried rice.

JungleMonkey, I've read all 15 pages and I still don't know what exactly it is you're saying. Is it your position that women should not be able to work and should make finding a husband and having children their only ambition? Do you advocate women not being able to vote or have rights?

Staying home to raise children is a hard job, but it's not for everyone. Are you saying that it's what every woman should want?

.... maybe in your backwater circles, but us more ENLIGHTENED men look at a family as a partnership split down the middle.

I hold a job, I shared the cooking, cleaning was partitioned up... any woman who would WILLINGLY go into a marriage where she was powerless to the man and had to carry ALL of the responsibility would be a complete fucking retard and deserves her stupid fate.

    Seriously, you sound like you're from the 50's. 18 or 1950's, I can't decide.

Maybe it's just the moms boys that still expect to be taken care of. Shoulda married a gay man. I don't know. Hard core feminism ticks me off as badly as the other side. Why can't we all just get along.

My hubby does a lot of cleaning and cooking in our household. It really isn't equal partnership I don't think cuz I'm doing way way less work.

Oh but we don't have kids yet so we'll see.

Badly raised men are to be avoided. Just like badly raised women.
