Let me guess, that guy is part of Michael Steele's 'hip-hop' campaign.

According to this Reality check: Trucks win in Cash for Clunkers game - Aug. 7, 2009 the Ford Escape is the #1 seller in the cash for clunkers. I rode in one last week, it's a beautiful vehicle IMO.

Ford doesn't make a Focus hybrid but does build the Fusion and the Escape in a hybrid. #2 best seller according to the article is the Focus. (YEAH!1!!!!)

Maybe they were talking about the Focus PZEV. Which is hybridlike. It meets the SULEV and emits no fuel vapors, with 37 mpg its a good deal

Could be Cupcake, I wondered if that's what was meant, , I build them (the engine). They're a a bit more work for us, not a big deal though...I've been told they are for the states that have higher emission controls. I'm glad sales have picked up and not just because we are working overtime now. You're right they do get good gas mileage. With the Fusions I like to see them sell but they're built in Mexico so I wouldn't consider one for myself, although some of my coworkers drive them. In the end Ford is still making money on them and that's good for the company and the parts plants that build in the states for them.

I've read before that some people like Ford as they didn't go for bailouts and preferred to help themselves.
