I have set through many business classes, and I wouldn't say it is the govn't that neccessarrilly comes up with all of the ideas, well, it it is the people that work in govn't, yes. I've seen ALL sorts of people that come up with all sorts of ideas on all sorts of ways to *access* you(collect data), at least, on a financial risk level, and the ways they collect data is where they overstep there grounds, for sure.

As well they should get bent out of shape. There are limits to what the government should be able to do without any kind of judicial oversight and rectification should it become necessary.

If your gov can do whatever it wants, without some kind of check or balance, it will abuse said power.

Come on, as if Bush actually knows what words like construe and exigent even mean. The only mail this shit head will probably be reading will be that of liberal activists. War on terror? Psshaw. How convenient that "terror" can be whatever they want it to be. People need to wake up before America as it once was, with any hope of liberty, is gone forever.

Listening on phone calls - check
    Reading mail - check

What's going to come next? Are they going to be able to search people's houses without warrants? Put people in prison without reasons? This is going a bit too far.

In certain circumstances they can do that now if they choose to. In the UK at least the Customs people can search without a warrant and there's a few people in Guantanamo Bay who'd quite like to know why they've been held there without charge or trial for nearly 5 yearrs.

I just read on CNN.com that Cindy Sheehan is down in Cuba, demanding the closure of Guantanamo Bay. I didn't know Americans were even allowed to travel to Cuba.

Once they admit old Fidel's actually dead and another bastion of old-style Communism bites the dust I suspect a lot of things will change in Cuba.
