I voted for Obama. I rallied for him. I defended him. And now I'm pissed off. He still feels like a guest in the White House, walking around on eggshells.. I want him to get PISSED OFF. I want to see some fucking shit go down. I'm tired of this "lets build a bridge from the left to the right and all get along" bullshit. Time to put the big boy pants on.

I'd settle for a concrete plan of action (that didn't turn out to be total lies 48 hours later) expressed with confidence and command.

I'm just tired of it being all about charisma and approval ratings. I want to see him get riled up and serious... he seems to have a poor relationship with the press and that's really his only means of communicating with the general public. When he makes public addresses like this is just seems so contrived and insincere. He just seems so far removed now. I'm still pulling for him but damn... he's making it difficult to do so.

I think he's done for. I think just with the actions/inactions since taking office, he can forget about a reelection.

Don't kid yourself, the die hard Obamabots and delusionals still outnumber the people who are tired of the pretty words coupled with inaction.

hmmmm... I don't think so. I think people are more disgusted than ever right now. Just did a read of Rasmussen report (don't know how reliable that is) and according to that, only that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -20...

Honestly, people are sick of being jerked around. yeah, they should've gotten sicker faster (and by faster, I mean YEARS ago) but they didn't. This BP thing is going to be his 9/11 and he will not recover at the rate he's going now. Throw in the immigration shit and DADT bullshit and his goose is cooked, I'm tellin' ya!

well im going to put myself out there and say it, an oil spill in the ocean just isn't one of my biggest concerns at this point and i dont see what the presidents going to say about it in some speech makes any difference to me or many others.

Yes... oil spill with the potential to destroy the gulf of mexico, disrupt millions of lives, cost the country billions vs. finding the next thing to stuff in my vagina.

    A dilemma indeed.

I was probably going to vote for Hilary in 2008, but then Obama
became the Democratic candidate and well, everything was better
than McPow and Cariboo Barbie and the whole rightwing stuff that
made our nation the most hated and ridiculed place on earth.

Yet, and I've said it many times before, I really think Obama started
believing his own press, even before he'd actually won the election.
And although Chimpy McSmirkface was arrogant and ignorant, he was
smart enough to listen (although, sadly for the country, he listened to
the rightwing hawks Cheney, Rumsfeld and other cronies like that).
I think Obama is arrogant and intelligent, but also convinced he and
he alone knows what's right. To me, he always gave off an air of
wanting to do it alone, which soon irritated me when he made Joe
Biden less than a sideshow as soon as the elections were over.

I also think that, although arrogant, it may have even surprised him
that he actually did win the elections. That there may have been a
moment like in the Robert Redford movie "The Candidate": "What now?"
In the movie, the team did know how to run a campaign, how to
sell their candidate, but after they'd actually managed to win, it
dawned on them that.... Gee, now it isn't a game anymore. Now, we
actually have to do stuff, for real.

I think the Obamas rode on the clouds of euforia a bit too long
and didn't (and to some extent still don't) seem to realize the
honeymoon is long over. To what extent Obama may be aware,
I think he's actually longing for the next elections, to lose, so that
he can "get on with life" and can check "running for president",
"winning elections" and "being first black president of the
USA" off his "to do" list.

    Just my opinion.

Entertainment shows are not the right platform to promote
your health care plan because of something as serious as
47 million Americans who cannot afford health care insurance.
He's beginning to rival that idiot Chimpy McSmirkface as far
    as photo ops go.
I voted for the guy, but he should really wake up and smell
the garbage. Also, his administration should take the signs of
racism seriously and should not respond so politically correct
stating it is NOT racism but just a difference on issues.
Jesus Christ, I know Dubya dug the hole America is in right now,
but instead of closing it, Obama seems all too eager to just
    jump in.

Alice this goes way beyond being an oil spill. Loss of revenue- fishing, recreation, destruction of environment, clean up, legal precedent out the wazoo and impacting Goopy's shrimp taco supply. It's huge and we'll feel the impact of this spill for many years.

And BP failed fluid dynamics 101- this shit needs to stop. Do something other than grab tv time. Waive the fucking JONES act and get it done.

Yep. There were so many things leading up to the election that showcased his inexperience and inadequacies. He wasn't forthcoming on anything. Why in the hell would people expect him to change now? It's mind boggling.

He's like a fish out of water right now. He's just sort of flopping around waiting for someone else to clean up this mess. He thinks an eloquent but completely void speech is going to smooth things over with the American public. He's pointing a limp little finger at BP, calling them the bad guys, in the hopes that no one notices he hasn't done a damn thing. It's disgusting.
