Yaaaaaaaaaaah~ Jim Webb (D) was declared the winner over that 'Macaca'-spouting asshole George Allen for the Senate seat.

But I'm shocked disgusted by the gay hating going on here. They passed the Marriage Act even if it really creates a load of crap. Fallwell came up with the damn thing and it reads that only a man and a woman can be considered married in Virginia and then goes on to strip any type of rights from people who cohabitat regardless of sexual orientation or romantic entanglement. Example: say you and your grown brother or sister share a house and they get very ill. You're the only one around. In the past you could give permission for medical treatment, take care of their personal affairs and the like without much hassle. Now this law strips you of any right to do anything legally for the other person. It's a bad law that should never have been allowed on the ballot.

Most of the areas of Virginia that are DC burbs, wealthy, educated or military went Webb. Webb fared poorly in the poorer rural areas, which blows my mind. It's not like the Repukes are going to help out the poor.

Still waiting to see if this happens..

Yay Ohio got rid of Dewine and said FU to Blackwell! Unfortunately Pryce barely held on.

watching CNN last night and one of the pundits referred to Ohio as the national 'cesspool of politics' due to all the fraud, scandals, etc here. Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

WooHoo, there's balance back in the universe! One party rule was sucking the life out of Americans.

AP is predicting Tester as the winner in Montana right now - one more before Senate is Dem control too? Is that right?
You were lucky to have me. But you know what? I think I already got the best part of you. And she's standing right out there. I don't know... what's left just doesn't look so good anymore. Hope Floats

No, the DEMS HAVE WON MAJORITY IN THE SENATE!

They own the house and the senate!

and, to top it off... Alice, you'll love this...

"GOP INSIDERS SAY RUMSFELD IS RESIGNING IN A DAY OR 2!!!!!"

    of course, a sobering thought:

With the Dems in control of the senate and house, now the groundwork is all laid for Holy Joe Lieberman to switch parties so Cheney can break the tie and keep control of the Senate.

Fucker. He will too. he's probably been paid handsomely to do it.

this does give me a glimmer of happiness today; but i'm so upset about certain environmental measures not passing here in CA and that stupid horrible actor w/ no education who banned gay marriage (even though the ppl voted for it) and illegals getting licenses (so now they don't get car insurance either) and raised tuition for state schools (so now more and more low income minorities can't stay in school ) winning! I just don't get it!?! How can his idiot wife support him so much!?! She's a Kennedy; she should know better She's a traitor to her gender and politics. I can't believe so many ppl are so star struck that they voted his ass back into office; he wasted millions and millions of $ on a special elections bullshit 1 year ago and he vetoes what the people want! If I didn't have such a sordid past I would go into politics myself damnit!

But I'm glad to hear about Rumsfield and now the Democratic congress can stand up against whatever bullshit the conservative supreme court tries to pull w/ abortion issues and such.

I thought the Virginia race was still up in the air??? They HAVE to have Virginia as well to have the Senate. If Lieberman does switch he should be shot!

Webb is ahead by 10,000 votes and his lead keeps climbing, Macaca doesn't have a chance to catch up. It's over, he just needs to concede. Webb has already announced victory.

If LIEberman switches, then that right there proves he has no credibility. Also it'll show the similarites between the Independent and Republican parties.
