    Shared on Facebook:

"I listened as they called my President a Muslim.
I listened as they called him and his family a pack of monkeys.
I listened as they said he wasn't born here.
I watched as they blocked every single path to progress that they could.
I saw the pictures of him as Hitler.
I watched them shut down the government and hurt the entire nation twice.
I watched them turn their backs on every opportunity to open worthwhile dialog.
I watched them say that they would not even listen to any choice for Supreme Court no matter who the nominee was.
I listened as they openly said that they will oppose him at every turn.
I watched as they did just that.
    I listened.
    I watched.
    I paid attention.
Now, I'm being called on to be tolerant.
    To move forward.
    To denounce protesters.
    To "Get over it."
    To accept this...
    I will not.
I will do my part to make sure this great American mistake becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be.
I will do this as quickly as possible every chance I get.
I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country.
I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice.
I will let you know in a loud voice every time this man backs away from a promise he made to them.
Them. The people who voted for him.
The ones who sold their souls and prayed for him to win.
I will do this so that they never forget.
    And they will hear me.
They will see it in my eyes when I look at them.
They will hear it in my voice when I talk to them.
They will know that I know who they are.
They will know that I know what they are.
Do not call for my tolerance. I've tolerated all I can.
Now it's their turn to tolerate ridicule.
Be aware, make no mistake about it, every single thing that goes wrong in our country from this day
forward is now Trump's fault just as much as they thought it was Obama's.
I find it unreasonable for them to expect from me what they were entirely unwilling to give."

People want an outlet to focus their anger and frustrations upon. If you are disappointed, frustrated, mad about where you are in life, the least physically destructive thing to do (for yourself) is to find someone to hate, and focus all of that pent-up rage on that person/group. You may not be able to change your circumstances, but you can sure as hell express your rage against something, which in the immediate term seems to give relief. People are typically not reasonable about things like this, it's too touchy. They can get downright scary with it. It's easy to understand with a psychology background, but damned if it isn't REALLY hard to get this ingrained type of behavior to NOT be an angry person's go-to. They don't see it. Helplessness about one's own lot does not justify misplaced anger, and definitely not action on behalf of that.

And really, Conservatives have bitched, complained, and obstructed for 8 years. I think we're entitled to 10 days.
It's a no-win situation, unfortunately. If the electoral college went for Hillary there would be a popular revolt and with the senate and house majorities her life would be a living hell for 4 years.

But I am definitely done with the idea that we need to give Rump a chance. The writing is on the wall and there's no reason for optimism.

If you've got Amazon Prime, you can get six months for free. I love the WaPo so much that I'm actually paying for it now (I think it's like 4 bucks a month through Amazon.)

Another well written article My Journey to the Center of the Alt-Right - The Huffington Post I don't want to quote any of the people in this piece, but it is worth reading.

    And this https://thecorrespondent.com/5696/we...66432-e23ea1a6

Today is November 18, 2016. I want you to write about who you are, what you have experienced, and what you have endured.Write down what you value; what standards you hold for yourself and for others. Write about your dreams for the future and your hopes for your children. Write about the struggle of your ancestors and how the hardship they overcame shaped the person you are today.
Write your biography, write down your memories. Because if you do not do it now, you may forget.
Write a list of things you would never do. Because it is possible that in the next year, you will do them.
Write a list of things you would never believe. Because it is possible that in the next year, you will either believe them or be forced to say you believe them.

Really depressing and scary, but the author is forgetting one thing - weapons, and orange turd voter's general refusal to give them up. That's why this country could not easily be turned into a dictatorship. Especially here in the South, the powers that be would probapbly have to kill most of the population to get them disarmed.

I saw a comment on Twitter saying something about this, the person who wrote it said that thankfully all of us "libtards" (??) gave up our guns and now only the pro Trump people have them. Seriously? Their insistence on lax laws makes it very easy for any of us to go out and buy guns (not that I am advocating). & my guess is also that they have never lived near an area with drive-by shootings, I have, and believe me there is plenty of access to guns. I think that "normalizing" is what could pose the greatest threat, where we become placated and start to accept the very bad things either as a psychological defense or as a way to stay included in "society". That second article touched on this & I can see how it is possible if people don't inform themselves, remind themselves, and stay aware.

It's like the boiling lobster (frog? not sure, some animal) scenario. Where you are boiled so gradually that you don't realize it until you are fully cooked.
