I'm glad the election brought the nutjobs out into the open. Better that than the rock they were hiding under.

    Odd.

I think some of the tribes down here levy taxes on people that live on the Reservations too.

I have no election night plans except to watch TV and hope Obama wins.

For those (like me) who voted in 2004, it wasn't voting FOR a candidate or because you actually liked anyone, it was just putting in a vote against someone. For those people this is the first election where they like or feel a connection to anyone running for office. The energy was great, we could not stop talking about it, and it was all excitement for the potential for change and the ability to be involved in that process.

I'm still scared of it not going the way it is expected, but my overwhelming feeling is excitement.
Yeah, I agree. The general tone about all of the Obama supporters is excitement. In contrast, when I talk to Republicans, most of them are not voting FOR McCain, they are solely casting a vote against Obama. In their eyes, he's either socialist/communist/Muslim/terrorist/anti-Christ, etc. Its scary how much the Republican party feeds off of fear. There is so much hope from the Obama side, I hope and pray it pays off and we don't cower to the powers that be who just want us to be afraid of "different." I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

Hugh Jass was one of the conservatives who makes ALL conservatives look bad. I understand what another poster said about the Republican party "harboring racists". That does NOT mean that all Republicans are racist, but they need to step up and take their party BACK. Its been hijacked by fear-mongers and racists who are becoming more and more vocal and brazen.

I won't be able to shout when Obama wins because I have a sore throat Hopefully I'll get lucky and cough drops will heal my throat in the mean time.
