This really sounds like when Tony Blair first became elected in the UK- With the whole Cool Britannia thing started. And look at how that turned out :S

But havent celebs always been invited to the Whitehouse? Although JLo and Marc Meh could have done better.

Entertainment shows are not the right platform to promote
your health care plan because of something as serious as
47 million Americans who cannot afford health care insurance.
He's beginning to rival that idiot Chimpy McSmirkface as far
    as photo ops go.
I voted for the guy, but he should really wake up and smell
the garbage. Also, his administration should take the signs of
racism seriously and should not respond so politically correct
stating it is NOT racism but just a difference on issues.
Jesus Christ, I know Dubya dug the hole America is in right now,
but instead of closing it, Obama seems all too eager to just
    jump in.
I guess you're right about him needing to wake up and open his eyes about the issues around him, but look at the state of pressure he's put in. Right now, there are so many bad things that are going on in the world and people expect him to fix them all at once. They take time--- a few years from now, maybe some of the issues might be fixed or not. Since we voted him as president, we're just gonna hafta wait and see about the stands he's going to take next.

I, and everybody I know, think he took on too many things too
quickly at the same time. He should have set some priorities.
Instead he said, and it is true to some extent, that everything
is connected so in order to fix one thing, the others need to be
fixed as well. I agree, just NOT at the same time.
Also, I'm disappointed by Joe Biden having been degraded to
"Sideshow Joe". Obama should learn to delegate more.

I think he's doing as good as can be expected considering the pile of dung the previous administration left him. He can't please everyone and I don't agree with him on everything, but I am willing to give him a chance. It hasn't even been a year people!!! It's not like he's been begging to get PEOPLE covers!!!! It's not him doing all of this.

Bitter, he handed health care reform off to 3 blue dogs and 3 rethugs who received millions (MILLIONS!) in campaign funds from big pharma and insurance companies, which is why that bill has no real reform in it (no public option). On that point, he gave away the single-payer option on healthcare right from the start, and has telegraphed weakness over and over by caving to right-wing nutjob demands.

He's tossed gay rights onto limbo because he refuses to engage in confrontation or move on it whatsoever, and his DOJ compared us to incestuous pedophiles in a legal brief it never had to file.

He's shoving more troops into afghanistan, the iraq war continues

He's fired 2 people from his admin because Glenn Beck screeched

He appears to favor bipartisanship with NUTJOBS (who won't support a bipartisan bill anyway) over good sound legislation

He doesn't appear to be taking a stand for anything, hold any position on any topic.. nobody knows wtf he stands for or what he's trying to do, if anything

It's not a matter of giving him more time.. it's about being worried on what he's doing RIGHT NOW

    ugh!

    could NOT care less!

If you could care less, it means you haven't reached the limit of not caring.

Well, between the choices we had Obama was still the better one, IMO. Imagine where we'd be if McCain/Palin had won. McSame ignoring problems altogether and Palin trying to push her nutjob agenda through Congress because she thinks the VP is in charge of Congress.

^ I think with McCain we'd pretty much be in the same position as we are now.

No health care reform, no Wall Street reform, escalation in Afghanistan, Iraq would still be going on, rendition would still be happening, Guantanamo would still be open, the Patriot Act would still be law, gays would still be denied the right to marry.......

I don't see how this is so much better- or even different, except Obama calls himself a dem, while McCain calls himself a repub.

And Palin would have as much impact as Biden, who is barely noticed.

When some actual things change, then I'll say we're better off. Until then, it's all the same.

You nailed it perfectly. I'm only a mere forner but for better or worse US domestic and foreign policies do cause ripples Down Under too so I am also very disappointed and increasingly concerned at how the Obama administration seems to be losing focus and direction so rapidly and it seems to be caused mainly by his desire to be popular rather than decisive.

I am not going to address them; you are looking for an argument for argument's sake.
