Palin's Wikipedia Entry Gets Overhaul

by Yuki Noguchi

August 29, 2008 · If you happened to check Sarah Palin's Wikipedia entry Thursday, you might have had a good tip about Friday's announcement.
Someone — and apparently it was just one person — felt like the existing biography wasn't appropriate for a vice-presidential candidate.

On Friday, 15 minutes before the rumor that John McCain had picked Palin as his running mate, a Wikipedia editor discovered 30 mostly favorable changes had been made to the Alaska governor's profile.

She was called "a politician of eye-popping integrity" and sections on her participation in a beauty pageant and her alleged use of influence to get her former brother-in-law fired were diminished.

Wikipedia is now restricting who can alter Palin's page.

She was a great athlete in school and participated in beauty pagaents. She married her high school sweetheart who happens to be a card carrying steel workers union member. She started out in the PTA for her childrens school and then decided to run for mayor, which she served for six years.

I think her stance on abortion really hit home when she was faced with her baby, (fetus, viable life) having down syndrome and making the choice to keep it. Being a women in her position it would have been alot easier to get rid of it.

You mean her 16 year old's baby?

Considering she might replace him has anyone heard where she stands on foreign policy, including the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Why did the Obama campaign issue a press release highlighting her lack of experience? If he wants to make that an issue in the campaign, all it will do is highlight his own lack of experience.

Also, that part of the press release belittling her for being a mayor of a town of 9,000 once again highlights Obama's distaste for small town America. He may be making the same mistake as Kerry did, coming across as too elitist.

^^One of Obama's spokesman jumped the gun on that press release, and Obama had to do damage control.

Of course it does, it always does.

Yes he's biracial, but at the end of the day, his black genes are dominant in his appearance, his wife is black, his daughters are black, and that's a lot of blackness in the white house to qualify him as the first black president

The final thing I already hate about Sarah Palin is HER VOICE.

It is like nails on a frickin' chalkboard. I can't handle it man. She was on CNN earlier at a rally and uhg.

It's going to be a long 2 months listening to her yapping.

She thinks the founding fathers wrote the Pledge of Allegiance! *snorts*

In response to: 11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

"Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance."

From :2006 Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaire
