Chauvanistic and sexist doesn't go far enough...let's also add hypocritical and ridiculous. I have lost count of how many sides of their faces they're talking out of about this woman. I think it's pretty telling that the ALASKAN Legislature REPUB President is going on tv to call Palin out on turning the Alaskan govt over to the McCain machine, calling her out on her tactics and lack of understanding of even ALASKAN issues. Why is she being protected? Are we really expected to vote in another secretive, do what I say or I will destroy you, criminal administration? Oh hell, now I'm all worked up and it's so early in the a.m.

RE: The baby hoople, I never heard it anywhere except when Repub mouths were bemoaning the existence of the rumors (on Fox, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN), I never heard it reported as a story itself (I actually had to come to GR to understand what the issue/question was that the Repub mouths were moaning about). The rumor wasn't picking on her family - it is inconceivable and flat out stupid that a woman would behave the way she did the day her son was born and ummmmm, her teenage daughter is preganant, so why would it have been outlandish to think she may have gotten pregnant? It wasn't picking on the daughter or the family it was pointing out that this woman cannot make decisions in the best interest of her own children (flying 6 hours in labor, without even telling the airline), why should she be allowed to tell my family how to live? Or make policy decisions about anything?

Sarah Palin's unwillingness to speak to reporters is a DISGRACE to our democracy. She is running for VP of the US and it is American citizens who would be putting her there. Who does she think she is that she does not have to interview for the position? What kind of hubris does it take to think that you do not have to make yourself available to questions from the American people you want to elect your sorry ass? She and McCain are making a joke of our system and many of you think that is okay. Shame on you!

I agree also^^^. We have a right to know how this possible VP possible president would handle issues. Just because we "lucked out" with Truman doesn't mean we will again.
If I can't be a good example, then let me be a horrible warning.

My sister just told me that she heard Palin will not release her medical records until after the election. WTF? What could she possibly be hiding?

Has she released her tax records yet?

O.K. this is getting ridiculous. They need to take her to task on this. The media needs to mention all this crap. they are starting to get pissed at McCains campaign though.

Did Obama release medical records? I don't remember a thing about it. Unless it was when the smoking issue came up?

We just need transparency, transparency, transparency. If you're going to be president, you should be willing to do this for your country.

We can't have everything in secrets anymore, everything behind closed doors.

Why won’t McCain let Palin talk to the press?
    Posted: 01:50 PM ET

John McCain won’t let Sarah Palin talk to the press. (PHOTO CREDIT: GETTY IMAGES)
    FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:
John McCain doesn’t want reporters talking to his running mate. Why not?
The Straight Talk Express — which, by the way, is an expression you don’t hear much from McCain these days — would prefer no talk at all if the conversation is between the news media and Sarah Palin.

Yesterday’s photo op at the United Nations between Sarah Palin and Afghan President Hamid Karzai was a joke. The McCain people weren’t going to allow any reporters in the room when the two met — just cameras. It was only after the networks threatened to not cover the event at all that the McCain people relented and allowed a pool producer into the room. He was permitted to stay for a total of 29 seconds before being escorted out. And of course, no questions.

This kind of cheap theatrics is beneath someone who wants to be president of the United States. Unless you’re John McCain. Then apparently it’s ok, and his campaign doesn’t think the voters are smart enough to figure out what’s going on. I think they’re wrong about the voters.

    Here’s my question to you:
Why won’t John McCain allow reporters more access to Sarah Palin?

I think this was a great move by Campbell Brown. The McCain camp is accusing the media of being sexist. Well, then, turn it back on them. If the McCain camp thinks the media's being sexist, then they should treat her like any other candidate - male or female. Plain and simple. Touché, my friend. I'm just waiting for the McCain camp to call Campbell Brown sexist next.

They have all become gossip mongers and would be more suited to writing for GR than reporting.
What about being accused of being a Muslim, and insinuating that you're a terrorist because of your birth name you have no control over? What about the criticism and bashing of your wife and her so called lack of patriotism, or anything else they can think of? What about your patriotism constantly being under question because you didn't put your hand over your heart while singing the Star Spangle Banner (not the pledge of allegiance) or you didn't wear a flag pin?

Seriously, she's supposed to be tough, right? At least, I thought so. I don't see your point at all. Politicians are going to be accused of many things, it's your right and in your favor to defend yourself.
