$10.3 million - Eliminate all state general fund spending for UC Hastings College of Law.
This one I agree with. The last thing the world needs is more lawyers.

I guess Arnie's tired of being Governor, because he's pissing on his political career. In tough times you have to make cuts, but it seems like he wants the poor and middle class to carry the bulk of the weight of those cuts and not the rich.

-- In the prisons, rehabilitation, education and vocational programs would be hacked.

I've never understood why prisoners get a free college education anyway...that's always pissed me off.

CA is fucked & I'm sorry to any of you who live there. It feels like the US is on the fast track to becoming a third world country.

    ^^
cause prison isn't just about punishing, it's about rehabilitating. these people are going to come out of prison and be a part of society and if they've received some education and vocational training in prison, it increases their chances of finding a job and being regular members of society upon release, rather than recidivating.
basically, it's in our best interest that prisoners be rehabilitated as much as possible.

Hmmmm, cut funding to fighting fires AND funding to maintaining parks. Well, I guess the poor won't have to worry for too long, in about a year, the whole state will be up in flames.

I must be crazy, but isn't there a hell of a lot of wealth in that state? Why the fuck is it in such bad dire straights? I know Arnie is a chimpanzee on steroids, but is there no one there capable of running a ledger and having some forethought?

It's more the fact that in California, voter initiatives mean they vote themselves a whole bunch of shit and then vote down a raise in taxes to pay for it, so the state is always in debt

Wow, who knew that electing a mediocre actor with possible brain damage from long-term steroid abuse to office would backfire?

Seriously though, that shit is Dickensian.

I lived in LA for six years starting one month after the Northridge earthquake in 1994. It amazed me that even in the last year, many tenants in my apartment complex (which granted was a shitty building in Hollywood) were living rent free, with the rent being paid in full by FEMA due to being displaced five years earlier by the quake. What a crock of shit. I can see paying their rent for maybe a year, but five years? Millions of dollars went to this.

And further, it always pissed me off that whenever there were major fires or flooding in Malibu, for example, these rich fucks were always being interviewed standing in front of their messed up mansions saying, "Of course we are going to rebuild. This will be the fifth time." Much of the money they used to rebuild would come from FEMA or some state agency. You've got the rich people building on lands that were never meant to be inhabited, where small, yearly wild fires used to be nature's way of clearing away the natural brush before it could become 50 years old and combust with the power of a small nuclear weapon. Where the cost of a nice view meant building on the side of a cliff that would surely wash away within five years. Didn't I love the fact that the state taxes on my measly paycheck were going to finance the rebuilding of homes that should never have been built there in the first place.

And now, let's take money away from poor people who need health care. Christ. I am so glad I moved back to the east coast. I hated fucking CA.

This is what I always think. It sounds nice and utopian on paper to have voter initiatives, but it's not rooted in any sort of reality at all, it just leads to nightmares. I couldn't believe all the fucking initiatives just on the November ballot. I sat there, thinking, where the FUCK is all the money gonna come from to pay for this??? I voted NO on most of it.

    ^^ I Agree.

It's why we're a representative democracy instead of a true democracy....because lots of people are too stupid to make certain decisions

I wouldn't trust the average schmuck to paint my house, never mind decide how to spend my tax dollars....

politicians are assholes, but you can get rid of them if you don't like how they do their job....how do you get rid of millions of voters?

I'm going to research if this is true- I'll let you all know. I hope it isnt.
Since I recently started in the insurance industry (for seniors, not regular health care), here's what I know. There is a medical records company called the Medical Information Bureau (MIB) which is basically a large database which holds everyone's medical records. Once you go to the hospital and all your information is put into the system, it automatically goes into the database. So they will know what procedures you've had, what meds you are on, etc... The insurance underwriters access all this information when determining coverage. You are not allowed access to these records. They can only be released to your doctor per their request. I wouldn't doubt if MIB also tracks insurance rejections.

Does the MIB track by social security number?
