    1. Someone who lays off working folks because he or she is preparing for Obama's assault on his or her personal wealth--rather than doing so out of actual need--is a douche.

    2. Wealth has already been redistributed--it's just been redistributed up the ladder. You just don't get that, do you?

    3. Are your rich, self-reliant, intelligent friends also shitty spellers?

    4. Do you or your friends actually know what socialism means?

    5. I don't think Obama or anyone else is blaming you personally for someone spending more than they can afford or making poor decisions. Deregulation of credit and other markets has made it easier for people to make these stupid decisions, and there have been lots of financial incentives for these institutions to make such transactions with the aforementioned foolish and irresponsible people. I agree that people should not feel entitled to buying a home that is not within their means, but let's acknowledge that there were companies out there telling these people that these homes etc. were indeed within their means. And why not? Every time one of those companies made a crappy loan, they made money. So did the people who appraised the homes and the various other middlemen who were all incentivized to keep the charade going.

I was listening to a very interesting first-hand account on the radio by someone talking about how a sub-prime mortgage company aggressively pursued her business, calling her to offer her a loan after she had declined and telling her how she could "afford it." With that said, I believe that not everyone needs to be a homeowner and that people need to educate themselves before they take on obligations of that size. In previous decades, when credit was tighter, people were not able to overextend themselves in this way, and it was better for everyone.
    6. Obama is not as far left as they come--not even close. That's just silly. Such statements undercut your credibility.

Plus, the wealthy shouldn't be so quick to knock Obama's plans, since Dubya's plans, while making them richer, are now hurting the wealthy because of the economic meltdown. So, while you're at your little country club, you and the other members should enjoy it while you can. Because by the the time we hit bottom with this recession either you, or some of your country club friends, won't be able to afford a country club.

Hell, the wealthiest people in America are already losing money in this recession like Warren Buffet and Rupert Murdoch, so imagine what that means for the rest of the lower wealthy.
This reminds me of another important point. Your friends at the country club who are laying off people are doing so in large part because of the economic collapse brought on largely by years of mismanagement of the economy by our leaders (I'm looking at you GWB--but also at some dems). Apparently they didn't find this economic fuckery to be a problem as long as it benefited them. Now that their personal wealth is suffering, they start complaining. It's another thing you just don't seem to get--the economy has been broken for awhile. I understand that you do not agree with Obama's ideas on how to fix it, but please do not ignore the underlying problems that he had nothing to do with.

My 401K and my daughter's college education fund lost at least a third of their value before the election. Was that Obama's fault?

Say hi to Chip and Muffy for us. Don't forget to wear your pastel pink sweater tied around your neck.

After my round I'm meeting my wife in the restaurant where we'll have a late lunch among other well-to-do conservative members of the club.
I can't imagine a more cringe inducing, eye-rolling experience. What DO neocons prattle on about while cheap illegal labor is bringing their pretentious dishes to them?

We'll probably hook up with some friends and the conversation will certainly center around the stock market, the economy, and Obama's class warfare against us.
You poor dears, it's so hard when you're not being catered to, isn't it. How will you fare with all your bloated bank accounts once Bush's tax cuts expire. I see it was all fine and dandy when the class warfare was directed at the other 95% of the population at your behest, but when the tables turn suddenly you're peeing your depends.

Maybe someone even more wealthy than you will dribble a bit so you can catch some of that sweet wealth that supposedly trickles downward.

This is how we spend most of our saturdays.
That explains a whole lot. Echo chambers tend to love the sounds that bounce around inside them.

This is happening in every upscale suburb and Country Club in America. Obama is losing upper-middle and upper class support faster than a speeding bullett.
Bush lost 95% of the population and destroyed the country while catering to people like you. There's a real recipe for success.

Most of the wealthy people who belong to this club [and most others like it] are self made. They're self reliant, intelligent, successful people who've come to realize Obama deeply resents them, in precisely the same way Jeramiah Wright does, and wants them to have less - MUCH less.
You're intelligent and resourceful? I'm sorry, you've been bested at every turn on this board by complete amateurs at subjects you brazenly declare yourself an expert in.

Obama doesn't resent you, he's not exactly poor. He made himself what he is. What he, and everybody else, resents is the gross disparity between how the upper 2% have been catered to, coddled, and courted at the expense of everybody beneath them to an incredibly detrimental effect. LOOK AT YOUR FUCKING COUNTRY. It's falling to pieces. It's finances are a wreck. That is what unfettered republicanism and YOUR economic theories have wrought.

You cannot deny that. Your solution, of course, is to continue that theory, all the while ignoring the effects of what it is doing. IF THERE IS NO MIDDLE CLASS, NOBODY WILL BUY YOUR PRODUCT.

Obama feels these people [we] are responsible for opressing the poor and taking advantage of the middle class by taking advantage of their overspending and foolish decisions to buy things they can't afford.
So you get a lot of people buying insurance they can't afford then? That is your line of work, isn't it? I highly doubt many people are doing that, given that 1 in 3 working Americans IS NOT INSURED AT ALL. So who is this "we" you are lumping yourself in with? Your line of work has absolutely nothing to do with retail consumerism.

Most of the people who live here and belong to this club are business owners or professionals who employ lots of people. Almost all of them are laying off non-essential staff/workers in preperation of Obama's assault on their personal wealth/income - the savings they get from laying off non-essential staff/workers is money that goes back directly into their pockets and stays there.
LOL this paragraph says it all right here. You greedy hypocrite. Bourgeois leech suckling at the teat of society and then when things get a bit tough hoarding your wealth like misers.

The wealth didn't trickle down beneath you when times were good, and it's not trickling down NOW. That's the problem with the 1-2% at the top. They make grand proclamations of Reaganomics when the truth is they grasp and clutch at their dollars even more tightly as the years go by irrespective of the economic climate at hand.

Maybe if more of that wealth had trickled down into jobs that paid a living wage, the US wouldn't be in the fucking mess it's in. Instead, you people hoarded and created menial, low paying McJobs that nobody could live off of, and patted yourselves on the back while buying a new yaght.

Middle class "working" people lose jobs and unemployment rises. Those job losses are a direct result of Barack Obama's class war.
I'm sorry, the job losses happened on Bush's watch. Obama has been in power for 6 weeks. Bush has created a net loss of MILLIONS OF JOBS. Republican economicsw have presided over THE LARGEST LOSS OF JOBS SINCE THE DEPRESSION. This isn't Obama's doing, this is YOUR doing. How can you pretend that isn't reality? The facts and figures speak for themselves! What the fuck delusional dream world do you live in!?

This won't end until the threat of socialism abates - but it will end. Obama will be an epic failure because he doesn't respresent mainstream American values.
Again, are you blind? Mainstream America is giving him incredibly high marks for the direction and actions he has taken so far. Who's getting the low marks? The Rethugs and deluisional fools who have had their face in the trough the last decade, hiding their obscene profits in offshore tax havens at the behest of a government that bankrupted its entire populace to cater to YOU.

His radical agenda would destroy private capital and redirect it back into govenment where it would be squandered. Slowly those who elected Obama are recognizing Obama is far too radical, inexperienced and foolish, and his agenda would destroy America's greatness - the moderate democrats are nervous about Obama now and without them his presidency is dead in the water - and America is saved. America made a mistake by electing a left of center President but they're realizing that mistake and it's import and the mid-term elections will begin to undo it's damage.
Amwerica made a mistake by voting for a braindead, far right retard who bankrupted the country.

GEORGE BUSH BANKRUPTED AMERICA. REPUBLICANISM BANKRUPTED AMERICA. THATCHERISM BANKRUPTED THE UK. REAGANOMICS BANKRUPTED THE US BACK IN THE 80'S. MULRONEYISM BANKRUPTED CANADA IN THE 80'S.

Every time a conservative gets in, their economic model guarantees high debts, deficits, job losses, wars, and government expansion. That is reality. That is the truth. That is undeniable. It has happened for the last 30 years, like clockwork.

    Fucking face it.
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.

Why do we argue with it?

All it seems to value is money. I find that very sad.

Fauvee sounds a lot like my spineless, weak willed, emotionally abusive step-dad. Funny, that.

The country club part has me rolling.
It's definitely a wannabe, that's for sure. The real deals would never taunt a bunch of posters on a gossip board, give me a fucking break. Nice try though.

So it travels from Birmingham Alabama to Ameilia Island huh?? There is no such place as "Ameilia Island" it is actually AMELIA ISLAND in Florida. So it travels over 500 miles every week to spend its Saturday at the "Country Club" with the wife. I smell a wanna be....
The reason I know this is because I have family in Birmingham and the east coast of Fl. Sorry...

"Self-made" usually means uneducated. This guy is likely a person with a high school education who made some money by having a lot of "hustle", dumped his first wife, and is now on family number two. Seeing how he forces New Wife to meet him after his golf game and talk to a bunch of equally pompous, boring, self-made Dittoheads makes me think she's probably already thinking about an affair.

And what 50-year-old pillar of the community (or pillar of the gated nouveau upper-middle-class community, anyway) spends his time on a gossip board populated almost entirely by women talking about Jennifer Aniston's hair extensions? Shouldn't he be finding ways to emulate Limpballs more closely? WWRD? Live it up--follow your leader and go on a Dominican sex vacation with a bag full of illegal Viagra.

I knew a really good-looking guy who was a landscaper for one of these joints and you wouldn't believe the some of the offers he got from broads (yes, young 'hot' ones) married to country club guys like this. They had not only the money but a lot of time to fuck around while their men were busy. Talk about pipe laying...

Or is this FF? All it would take is some cutting/pasting from Dittohead boards and a rudimentary knowledge of the insurance industry (gleaned from watching Vicki on the Real Housewives--she's also an insurance broker with her own company--a klassy bunch).

Could be. The FF flavored troll juice was practically dripping off that last post. No doubt typed with fat, deal-breaking fingers!

Exactly what I was thinking (about the troll juice). Do you think it'll start talking about McMansion elevators and which Mercedes coupe is least vulgar soon?

I had this article in my Washington Post today about Limbaugh's mythical audience figures. The funny part is that nobody seems to be able to substantiate what they actually are, including Arbitron. I managed to find the article online, too:

washingtonpost.com - nation, world, technology and Washington area news and headlines

    A couple excerpts:

"There is no economic motivation for any objective third party to do that kind of analysis," says Thom Mocarsky, an Arbitron spokesman. [talking about why they don't know what Limbaugh's national listenership is]

The ratings service can say with some precision how large Limbaugh's audience is in a particular city and at a particular time. In the Washington region, for example, Limbaugh's program -- carried from noon to 3 p.m. on WMAL (630 AM) -- attracted an average of 167,700 unique listeners per week during January. Limbaugh has never been a huge draw in Washington; his show ranked 14th overall during January, far behind ratings leaders WTOP-FM (567,500 weekly listeners), soft-rock station WASH-FM (526,300) and Top-40 station WIHT-FM (349,300). [I think this is especially ironic because Washington is a particularly educated and politically oriented listening market. And supports the longtime pejorative for Limbaugh listeners as the "booboisie".]

Figuring out the size of Limbaugh's flock "is an art, not a science," says Michael Harrison, the editor of Talkers magazine, a trade journal about the talk-radio field. "It's very hard to come up with an exact answer. It really reveals the embarrassing state of radio ratings."

Your link took you to the front page. I think it would be interesting to tease how many people listen to him just to get a gauge on whatever hateful nonsense he's spewing that day. And then make sure never to patronize his sponsors.
