I think I had that when I had pneumonia. It really knocks you out, but helps with the coughing. Hope you feel better soon.

    What does that prove?

The WP article you cited doesn't give specifics regarding Limbaugh's contract with Clear Channel, so you can't really spout that you know exactly how much he makes because the negotiations were private.

Large deals like Limbaugh's often involve payments other than cash, such as stock options. So, it's highly unlikely that Limbaugh is currently at the billionaire status to which you subscribe him.

Which perfectly describes people who keep calling the president a socialist/communist, and then calls anyone who disagrees with them 'intolerant.'

That's one of the more bizarre non-sequitirs I've seen in a while.

Rush Limbaugh is the most successful radio or television star in American history. His latest deal with Premier Radio/Clear Channel pays him $50 million per year. Limbaugh's identifiable net worth exceeds $685 million - but most reports concede since Limbaugh's business is not public and he is not required to disclose his assets or portfolio his net worth probably exceeds $1 Billion. By comparison David Letterman's net worth is $145 million, Howard Sterns net worth was $1.4 Billion before the stock market melt down & tied directly to Sirius stock price - Sirius stock price is now virtually worthless @.12 cents a share - reducing Sterns net worth to less than $200 million.

Limbaugh is a radio genious. His ability to frame his position and articulate it without getting stale is unequaled. He's the uncontested King of Radio. Limbaugh's conservative political beliefs appeal to the largest audience of radio listeners in America.

Limbaugh represents the core values of the majority in center-right leaning America.

Limbaugh is one of the 10 most influential people in America.
So Boss Hog Limbaugh has a shit load of money and that makes him what? Still a pig. Limbaugh doesn't "articulate" his postion, he bloviates it every time he's on air. Your rationale that all of Rush's $$ makes him great is hilarious. Gee, I guess by your estimation, Bernie Madoff and L. Ron are a geniuses too.

HA HA HA. Wonder what he 'estimates' his penis at if that's his bank account. What a lard ass! Go for it Repugs, please follow the Hillbilly Heroin Addict down his yellow brick road to ignore the little man behind the curtain playing the great and powerful Oz. It's amazing how stupid some people truly are! With Limpballs in the lead, President Obama ought to be able to get a lot accomplished.

Yeah, well, Paris Hilton has a lot of money too, but she's still one of the most ignorant, arrogant, diseased people on the planet.

    Limbaugh is a radio genious
    Oh, and you misspelled GENIUS.

I'll give Rush credit for tapping into a market of uneducated, ignorant, insecure people who want to bring others down to make themselves feel better. He's made a lot of money doing that, but that doesn't make him a good person. He's like a bloated, rich version of the idiots out there who like to tell themselves they may not have "book sense" but they've got "common sense".

"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it"

When we're looming on the verge of a depression, I'll take my chances with the book learning, rather than listen to some blowhard who pulls opinions on what should be done out of his ass.

RL is really successful as a radio personality and makes big bucks doing that. That is his primary accomplishment. His success is nothing to sneeze at, and even though I am not fond of ranters on either side of the political aisle, I suppose there is a place for them.

But that is all he is. He doesn't create or implement policy. That's not his job. His words are all he has and all he can be judged on. (Though his personal life doesn't speak so well for him.)

While not to deny RL's "success," let's just say that Michael Vicks was making millions of dollars as an NFL player.

Miley Cyrus makes a shitload of money as well. Should she be my moral compass? I think not.

If anyone's a radio genius, it's Howard Stern.

I'm headed out to play golf at my conservatve Club here on Amelia Island. After my round I'm meeting my wife in the restaurant where we'll have a late lunch among other well-to-do conservative members of the club. We'll probably hook up with some friends and the conversation will certainly center around the stock market, the economy, and Obama's class warfare against us. This is how we spend most of our saturdays. This is happening in every upscale suburb and Country Club in America. Obama is losing upper-middle and upper class support faster than a speeding bullett. Most of the wealthy people who belong to this club [and most others like it] are self made. They're self reliant, intelligent, successful people who've come to realize Obama deeply resents them, in precisely the same way Jeramiah Wright does, and wants them to have less - MUCH less. Obama feels these people [we] are responsible for opressing the poor and taking advantage of the middle class by taking advantage of their overspending and foolish decisions to buy things they can't afford. Most of the people who live here and belong to this club are business owners or professionals who employ lots of people. Almost all of them are laying off non-essential staff/workers in preperation of Obama's assault on their personal wealth/income - the savings they get from laying off non-essential staff/workers is money that goes back directly into their pockets and stays there. Middle class "working" people lose jobs and unemployment rises. Those job losses are a direct result of Barack Obama's class war. This won't end until the threat of socialism abates - but it will end. Obama will be an epic failure because he doesn't respresent mainstream American values. His radical agenda would destroy private capital and redirect it back into govenment where it would be squandered. Slowly those who elected Obama are recognizing Obama is far too radical, inexperienced and foolish, and his agenda would destroy America's greatness. Moderate democrats are very nervous about Obama now and without them his presidency is dead in the water anyway - but before they save America conservatives will mount a major comeback in the mid-term elections and America will be saved. America made a mistake by electing a left of center President but they're realizing that mistake. Obama foolishly believes he has a mandate to install socialism. He doesn't.

Nice manifesto. Obama already made it clear before he became president that the wealthy were going to pay more. So, that's no big shock. And considering that the wealthiest Americans made out like bandits over the last 8 years, no one is feeling any sympathy for them.

Plus, the wealthy shouldn't be so quick to knock Obama's plans, since Dubya's plans, while making them richer, are now hurting the wealthy because of the economic meltdown. So, while you're at your little country club, you and the other members should enjoy it while you can. Because by the time we hit bottom with this recession either you, or some of your country club friends, won't be able to afford a country club.

Hell, the wealthiest people in America are already losing money in this recession like Warren Buffet and Rupert Murdoch, so imagine what that means for the rest of the lower wealthy.
