This is off topic from where this thread is going, but I am in Wisconsin, and watched all the ad campaigns that have been out for the last few weeks. There were the debate ads (mentioned upthread), but what seemed odd to me, and maybe I'm looking too much into it, but both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (am I even spelling that right?...yikes) ads referred to "Obama" and "Hillary". Why a last name for one, but first name for the other? Have they been doing this in other states?

I'm not a very political person, although I'm starting to read up on it a bit more, it was just something that struck me as odd. But maybe it's just me.

Still no actual PLANS or STRATEGIES to read! Hello!

HOW IS OBAMA PLANNING TO DO ANY OF WHAT HE SAYS??

Why is this question so hard to get an answer for, i swear every time someone asks, more fluff and opinionating comes up in the place of a detailed explanation of how the guy is going to accomplish anything.
He has a 64-page Blueprint for Change available on his website! Seriously, his website is drowning in information, its very detailed. His healthcare plan alone is a 27-pg PDF.

What issues do you want to know more about?

Did you watch those videos I posted? The young man explains a lot of that. He's going to fix the healthcare system by cutting costs on the supply-side, bringing down insurance co-pays, cutting back on drug marketing, forcing insurance companies to pay for preventive care, and providing subsidies for those who can't afford insurance.

This is another good website: Obama 101 « Think On These Things

I posted this for you earlier Crackho, I hope it helps:

Actually, Sen. Obama's site links to a variety of other media sites, PBS, CNN, newspapers. His site is very thorough and cross-referenced to other independent sites and sources.

Though it doesn't get a lot of press, in at-least two of the debates, Obama has stated that:

A. He believes in full civil unions with the same rights as marriage
and
B. He believes in leaving the decision to endorse or not endorse
marriage up to the denominations, using his church as an example of a
church that recognizes gay marriage.

Here's some links that might help though:
pride.barackobama.com | Obama Pride Home
Barack Obama on Gay and Lesbian Rights - Where does Barack Obama Stand for Gays and Lesbians
The Bilerico Project | Obama Talks Gay Rights on MTV

And then a site in general on LGBT issues of all the candidates:
Out for Obama: lesbian, gay, bi, trans (LGBT) supporters of Barack Obama

It may be because people (either consciously or subconsciously) have less respect for a woman candidate, and therefore usually refer to her as Hillary instead of Senator Clinton. The same people usually call Barack "Senator Obama". Of course I'm not saying everyone who does that is sexist, in fact I've called her Hillary on occasion too- simply because the same term gets repetitive after a while. But I call Obama "Barack" sometimes too.

I was thinking that too. They did have quotes on the Obama ads referencing Bill Clinton's administration. It was just odd to me, but again, not a political aficiando.

Well maybe, that's a good point too, but I don't think anyone would confuse the two if she was called "Senator Clinton". He's called former president Clinton.
