And to top it off he's making his speech on the anniversary of MLK's historic 'I Have A Dream' speech. So the pressure is on, but I think he can pull it off.

Of course, the Republicans & PUMAS will probably just talk about the backdrop he has, which McCain's already calling the Barackopolis.
Barackopolis! Reminds me of Metropolis. So maybe they're actually accusing Obama of really being Clark Kent/Superman? Who stands for "truth, justice and the American way" and 'saves' people. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

Does this make John McCain Lex Luther?

It's old news, water under the bridge, etc. But he can't take back what he said and you can't change it.

I am sure that he more than made up for it when he named her one of the three wisest people he knows.

I guess Obama being half-white doesn't come into play? People seem to forget that fact. Now that's not say what Obama said was okay, because it wasn't, but I'm sure his granny got over it. Just like Obama got over Biden's 'he's clean' remark.

And John McCain can't take back his racial slurs about Vietnamese people and saying that he would always hate them.

True. We are shaped by the experiences we have in life, and it is hard to set them aside. And I am sure all of us have said things that have been hurtful, either intentionally or just by mistake.

Truthfully, my family jokes so much about black/white, that I was not offended by the remark, but just pointing out to SSDiva what the "dis" comment was about.

Who hasn't heard, he mentions it every chance he gets.

So, what you're saying is that since McCain was a prisoner of war DECADES ago, that he has the right to publicly use racial slurs against an entire race of people? So, it's justifiable racism? Got it.

If he feels that way, in private, that's his choice, but you keep it to yourself.

is there anybody on the planet who hasnt heard about McSame being a POW?

The guy throws it out for any reason.

"John, nice morning isn't it?"

"I never knew the time of day when i was a POW, but yes. It's quite nice out."

"Hey John, how have you been?"

"Well aside from that 5 year stint as a POW where i was treated horribly and tortured, I'm dandy. How bout you Jim?"

"John, glad you could make it!"

"Almost couldnt, 40 years ago I was a POW. Is that a shrimp ring? We didn't have that when i was a POW. All we had were cold cuts."

Oh and I completely agree with your last statement. I work with racist, homophobic people and I always tell them.. "think it, don't say it.. don't make your ignorance and stupidity my problem".

and Grimm.. that dialogue was spot on. Well done!

Sweet baby Jesus..
Yanna did say 'maybe he would dis his granny again' I was just letting her know that when he did give his speech on Thursday night, when he accepted the Nomination, he didn't did his granny. In fact he talked about how she went without so that him and his sister were provided for, and how she was passed over for jobs. He also said that he knew she was watching, and that she was proud of him!!
