Talking Lawyers Against the War looks to bar George Bush from Canada

George Bush must be barred from Canada or prosecuted says Lawyers Against the War

George W. Bush is planning on coming to Calgary Alberta Canada on March 17th 2009 as a guest of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce to speak at a private function. This is apparently the first stop in a world tour.

    LAW’s Letter re: Bush Visit

Lawyers Against the War (LAW) has started a campaign to keep G.W. Bush out of Canada or have him prosecuted for torture, either by the Attorney General of Canada or privately--by LAW or other organizations or individuals.

LAW sent a letter dated February 23, 2009 to the Prime Minister, Attorney General and to the Ministers of Immigration, Public Safety and Foreign Affairs requesting that the Government of Canada comply with legal duties to:

    1. Ensure that George W. Bush is barred entry to Canada; and,
    2. Initiate prosecution of George W. Bush for torture if he enters Canada; OR
    3. Ensure that the Attorney General of Canada consents in writing to a privately initiated prosecution of George W. Bush for torture.

LAW invites others to sign/endorse our call for action set out in the February 23, 2009 letter by writing to law@portal.ca . Please provide name (of the individual or organization) and your city and country.

The involvement of G.W. Bush and the Bush administration in torture and other war crimes and crimes against humanity is a matter of public record. A recent article identifies 267 international crimes committed by Bush and his administration in the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Evidence against Bush goes far beyond the ‘reasonable grounds’ necessary to trigger Canada’s legal duties to first, bar Bush entry to Canada and, second--once he crosses the border—to prosecute him.

    Canada can have Dubya.

Although it would be funny if Canada did prosecute him for war crimes, even though that's never going to happen.

I'm from massachusetts, weed is practically legal there. I don't drink american beer, i would agree that it is pisswater(except Sam's). And also where I am from no one seems to care about how old you are to be able to drink. I've been to canada and it sucked maybe i was just in a boring part we went to niagra falls.

You went to niagara falls? Did you expect it would be any better on the Canadian side than the American one? LOL

Of course it sucks! It's niagara falls! Gawd!

Go clubbing in montreal, shopping in Toronto and see the rockies out west!

I don't see me going to canada to go shopping.

And I'm not into the clubbing much anymore. I stick to bars.

Niagra falls is a tourist trap. Hardly representative of the country as a whole.

niagra falls is about representative of canada, as branson, missouri is of america. you can't judge a country based on one tourist trap area.
