Senate passes Wage Discrimination bill

The Senate has passed wage discrimination legislation reversing a Supreme Court decision that made it more difficult for workers to file claims after discovering they get paid less than their colleagues.

The House is expected to move quickly to approve the bill and send it to the White House, where is could be one of the first major bills signed by President Barack Obama.

Obama backs the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, unlike former President George W. Bush who threatened to veto it.

another "about freakin' time" thing! Obama had Lilly Ledbetter on his train to DC before the inaugeration. the woman was screwed out of many thousands of dollars in salary by her employer (some tire company i forget) b/c of her gender. sickening shit.

For the first time in years, the American people are receiving the respect we deserve and have fought hard to win from the leader of the country.

This happened to me in my first job post college. It was my boyfriend who was getting paid more than I was despite my being there for longer and being more productive. Annoying but the boss was a chauvanistic ass and I needed my job so I kept my mouth shut. I made the boyfriend buy me things to compensate.

Isn't it great to have someone in charge who actually likes the American people? I've always gotten the distinct feeling that the Bushies (and I mean every single one of them) think they're some sort of American aristocracy who are well above all the little people. I can picture crazy old Babs 'let 'em eat cake'. Oh, wait, she did do something like that during Katrina.

Look out-Palin and Gov of Louisiana,who is strict Catholic are being pushed forward. It will be back to "abstinance & no birth control" in a mega flash. I truly do not think the younger generation will put up with it-I hope.
