Default As expected, Bush ditches Crawford ranch-moving to Dallas

DECEMBER 4--This is the Texas home that George W. Bush has purchased for his fast-approaching post-White House years. The home, on a Dallas cul-de-sac, sits on 1.13 acres and offers 8501 square feet of living space, according to city appraisal records. The property was purchased for $2.07 million in early-October by Robert McCleskey, the president's accountant, who is listed as trustee on deed records. Built in 1959, the home has been improved with a detached garage (1150 square feet), servants quarters (896 square feet), and a storage building (240 square feet).Dubya's New Digs - December 4, 2008
It's been said for years that Crawford Ranch existed simply to let bush look like a rootin' tootin' cowboy and to give a backdrop to him clearing brush, etc. and that the second he was out of office he'd move to Dallas. It appears this would be true.

Dallas seemed like a great place to live until the plague decided to settle there.

They are limited to one cul de sac. Not allowed to screw up the whole city!

The "Crawford ranch" isn't really a ranch. It's just a house on a big lot of land. They bought it in early 2000. My parents met the previous owners on a trip in 2000. W is not and never has been a rancher.

I think he will still use the ranch. He and Laura have drifted apart. He can go to his "ranch" get drunk and watch football. She can stay in Dallas and shop and "do lunch". By the way, she deserves it.
If I can't be a good example, then let me be a horrible warning.

In Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (yes, I'll admit I saw it) there is this funny scene of Bush at the ranch in Crawford hiding out and smoking weed. That's totally what I thought about when I read your post! I bet he'll keep it too. Laura will be thrilled to have him out of her hair.

1.13 acres isn't a ranch and damn sure isn't worth 2 million dollars.
