Talking Joe the Plumber stands John McCain up

John McCain announced that Joe the Plumber was at his rally in Defiance, Ohio Thursday morning. But when McCain called on the campaign poster-man to stand up, he wasn't there. "Joe, where are you? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today," McCain said. When there was no response, he added, "Alright, well, you're all Joe the Plumber so all of you stand up!"

McCain campaign officials later said that Joe was slated to appear with McCain at a different campaign event on Thursday.

Joe's too busy working with his agent, publicist and campaign handlers to bother with going to McCain's rally.

Joe, where are you? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today," McCain said.

Hahaha! Mr. Puddles! Where are you, Mr. Puddles?

Grandpa Mccain doesn't know what campaign stop he's even at anymore, I bet.

I get tears in my eyes watching this from laughter.

Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, has become an integral part of John McCain's presidential bid, but it appears the Arizona senator's campaign and the now-famous Toledo plumber need to work on their communication skills. McCain aides told CNN's Dana Bash Wurzelbacher would appear with the Republican presidential candidate at his first campaign event in Defiance, Ohio. But in what was a slightly awkward moment for McCain, Wurzelbacher was nowhere to be seen when the Arizona senator called out for him.
A campaign aide later said Wurzelbacher had "decided not to come" and may join McCain later in the day.

But reached at his home by CNN's Mary Snow, Wurzelbacher said it was "news to him" that he was supposed to be at the McCain rally. Wurzelbacher said nobody from the McCain campaign confirmed he was attending the event and called the incident a "miscommunication."
Wurzelbacher also said he is headed to Philadelphia for a charity event unrelated to the campaign and has no plans to meet up with McCain today.

UPDATE: Contacted by CNN a second time, Wurzelbacher said the campaign only called him to confirm after the event in question already took place. He will now try to meet up with McCain later in the day.

Wurzelbacher also said he had gotten an initial call about coming to the morning rally, "but no one called back to confirm," and was "not happy" that McCain had called out his name and he wasn't there.

This explains their whole campaign. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, or McCain is off looking for Mr. Puddles.

So does this Joe the asshole even have a job anymore? How could a truly hard-working plumber take so much time off work to follow McCain's Depends-covered ass around? He can't.

More interesting info on this rally...

But that rally featured another embarrassing moment, one that illustrates a far more troubling dynamic for the Republican ticket. The McCain campaign actually had to bus in school kids from the surrounding area in order to fill the event. As reported by MSNBC:
A local school district official confirmed after the event that of the 6,000 people estimated by the fire marshal to be in attendance this morning, more than 4,000 were bused in from schools in the area. The entire 2,500-student Defiance School District was in attendance, the official said, in addition to at least three other schools from neighboring districts, one of which sent 14 buses.
This happened -- as if a reminder were needed -- less than a week out from the election, when the heat of the campaign should be drawing record crowds.

Must have been a fun field trip.

Oh boy, what a great way for a kid to spend the day. I'd rather do math.
