Default Sarah Palin screws her favorite consignment store over accidentally

She screws over the political people that helped her, and now she accidentally screws over her "favorite consignment shop," too.

Sarah Palin tried to dig herself out of the $150K-wardrobe mess this weekend by boasting at a rally in Florida she was back in her old clothes. She even name-dropped her favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Out of the Closet. You might think this kind of publicity would be great for Out of the Closet, but it's not! AIDS Heathcare Foundation has operated a charity resale stores in California and Florida since 1990 also called Out of the Closet, a name the foundation trademarked in 1997. Now aware of the Anchorage establishment, the foundation sent a cease-and-desist letter to the Alaskan store with threats of a lawsuit if demands aren't met. Meanwhile, the California-based foundation asked Palin to donate her $150K wardrobe to them. [WWD]

Oh snap. This election is seriously like the best soap opera ever.

Chance are Palin has only set foot in that consignment shop once in her life and it was to buy stuff to use for Halloween. Now the owner of the store has to deal with the fall out.

Ah, she had no way of knowing this. The bigger picture is that her intolerance--for gays, for real feminists, for anyone who doesn't believe what she does--will come back and bite her at every possible opportunity. If she weren't advocating paleolithic policies hostile to certain groups of people, those people wouldn't be hostile to her.

As someone who's worked with businesses that have had to change their names, this can be quite expensive. So that sucks for this little business. But still, I laughed a little. She's like a trainwreck even when she doesn't mean to be. LOL!

Palin wouldn't help an AIDS foundation, trust me.

She really is Typhoid Mary, isn't she?

I hope she doesn't fade into obscurity for a while though - the comic relief is just too good.

She is the biggest harbinger of bad luck. McCain's campaign is in the shitter, the hockey teams she dropped the puck for have lost games and now have injured players...can't help but wonder who will be struck next?

Is there no one, including McCain, that can tell her to just be quiet. It's fine to say she went back to wearing her own clothes, but giving that "shout out" took it too far although she thought she was doing them a favor. If she worked with her campaign team, problems like this would not arise. But you know those damn socialists, haha-J/K.

^^ She gave a 'shout out' to a group of damn 5th graders at a podunk elementary school during a nationally televised live debate. Not surprised at her lack of careful thought here
