Default Barack Obama rally in my city!

Obama's going to be here this week! I am so excited and so is my 7 year-old son who wants to go with me.

Does anyone know about transportation and parking at these rallies? It's going to be held downtown where there's limited parking already and when you add in thousands and thousands of people for a rally, parking is hopeless. So do they typically offer shuttle or bus service to these rallies?

Here you have to have a tcket...no charge...and I am sure if it is a big city they would have a shuttle service.

Raleigh, NC on Wednesday. I already RSVP'd on the website.

I am excited for this chance to say I saw the POTUS in person - and for my son too, who is really into the election. They let the kids at school have a mock election.

Yes, take public transportation as close as you can get and then walk. Check your public transit's website for info and/or email the Obama website. You should be able to find out something.

I am so glad for you! My 17 year old daughter got to go to a small event (about 1600 people) a few weeks ago and got to shake his hand twice (on the way in and out). She couldn't get me a ticket--she almost didn't go herself due to other commitments--and I said you NEED to go to see the next POTUS. She says his handshake is very firm. Wish we could have gotten a picture of this. Oh, well.

yeah, parking will be a problem so you need to be prepared to walk/take public transportation. Also, be prepared to go through some sort of security/Secret Service and get there early. Bring bottled water and scope out where the restrooms are in relation to your position.

    Enjoy!

Check the TV stations web sites-they are bound to have all the info.

Let us know how it goes, chica.
I went to one a few weeks back and parking wasn't a major issue but the LINE was to get in.
It was insane. 26,000 people there. And we got there about 2-3 hours BEFORE he was set to talk.

Hi! Well, I'm home. We had a great time. The line was soooo long. We didn't think we'd get in there in time but Barack waited for most people to get in there before he started to speak. We made it just in time.

What struck me most was how nice and positive people were compared to the videos I've seen of McCain/Palin rallies. No one was yelling anti-McCain stuff at all. The people we were standing with in line who we didn't know even held our place while my son and I went in to use the bathroom.

    It was a good day

Here's the news coverage from my hometown:

Obama: Policies promote opportunity, not socialism :: WRAL.com

Oh, I forgot to mention that we were halfway back and I didn't see him. I picked my son up and he said he saw him though.
