Default John McCain kicks off 'Joe the Unlicensed Plumber' tour in Florida

(CNN) -- John McCain on Thursday kicks off his "Joe the Plumber" tour to woo Florida's blue-collar vote, as Barack Obama returns to Indiana, a traditionally red state where McCain is ahead.
"Whether it's Joe the Plumber in Ohio, or Joe over here ... we shouldn't be taxing our small businesses, as Obama wants to do," McCain said as he thanked the 'Joes' in Ormond Beach.
McCain charged that Obama believes in "redistributing the wealth, not in policies that grow our economy and create jobs and opportunities for all Americans."
"Sen. Obama is more concerned with controlling who gets your piece of the pie than he is in growing the pie," McCain said.Fact check: Obama's plan for small businesses
McCain's other Florida stops Thursday include Daytona Beach, Altamonte Springs, Orlando, Plant City and Sarasota.
Obama holds a 3 percentage point lead over McCain in Florida, 49 percent to 46 percent, according to CNN's average of Florida polls. Florida has 27 electoral votes up for grabs.
The Republican ticket is focusing its argument on Obama's highly publicized conversation with Ohio voter Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, since dubbed "Joe the Plumber."
Earlier this month, Wurzelbacher told Obama that he was about to buy a company that makes more than $250,000 a year and was concerned that the Democrat would tax him more.
Obama explained his tax plan in depth, saying it's better to lower taxes for Americans who make less money so that they could afford to buy from his business. His tax plan would lower taxes for people making less than $250,000 a year.
"I think that when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody," Obama told Wurzelbacher.
McCain and running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have said that Obama's plan sounds like socialism.
Obama shot back Wednesday at a rally in Leesburg, Virginia, telling voters:
"Let's be clear about who John McCain is fighting for. He is not fighting for Joe the Plumber, he is fighting for 'Joe the Hedge Fund Manager.' He is fighting for 'Joe the CEO.'"

The Obama campaign released a radio ad Thursday featuring John Mellencamp, who is from Indiana.
In the ad, the singer-songwriter slams President Bush's economic policies and says McCain represents "more of the same."
Indiana, with 11 electoral votes at stake, has voted for the Democratic candidate during presidential elections just once during the past 70 years.
According to CNN's latest polling there, McCain leads Obama by 5 points -- 51 percent to 46 percent. The poll, conducted October 3 through 6, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
The Obama campaign has spent about $4.6 million on ads in Indiana during the past 30 days.
The Republican National Committee has picked up the slack for McCain in Indiana, but has been vastly outspent by the Obama campaign.
The RNC has spent about $1.1 million during the same period.
Following the rally in Indianapolis, Obama is expected to leave the campaign trail and visit his ailing grandmother in Hawaii.
In an interview on CBS' "The Early Show," Obama said it is important for him to be by his grandmother's side because he did not get to see his mother before she died.
Speaking about his mother's death, Obama said, "We knew she wasn't doing well, but you know, the diagnosis was such that we thought we had a little more time and we didn't. And so I want to make sure that I don't make the same mistake twice."
Obama plans to return to the campaign on Saturday, Obama campaign spokesman Robert Gibbs said.
Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, is campaigning in North Carolina on Thursday, with rallies in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Raleigh.
On the Republican side, Palin is campaigning in Ohio and Pennsylvania on Thursday.
McCain storms Florida on 'Joe the Plumber' tour

McCain has pinned his presidential hopes on an unqualified failed beauty queen and an unlicensed plumber.

And I definitely understand where Obama's coming from about being with a relative before they die. I've had those missed chances, too.

    sigh.

    here we go again.

Joe the fraud wouldn't be taxed any worse under Obama's plan, if he DID own that stupid company. That's already been proven AD NAUSEUM.

Obama's plan would benefit the middle class, not the rich.

Why is nobody calling McCain on his lies? He's lying about shit that's already been proven false over and over and over.

I saw a new McCain ad this morning that starts by showing different people saying "I am Joe the Plumber". Of course they used both genders and all races. Then they start blasting Obama for "spreading the wealth" with lines like "just because I work harder I will have to pay more taxes." I laughed knowing that none of these "actors" are making anywhere near 250K. Obama has taken the high road. I would be running an ad in response tearing McCain's ad to pieces.

That is the exact couch that was placed out back on the porch for the kids to kick back on over twenty-five years ago!

McCain's plan will help no one except those who are already wealthy. This man is using a tax dodging, illegally operating plumber as the backbone of this phase of his campaign. I thought Palin was his biggest mistake. Maybe not.

We'll let Toby Keith pick our truck since he'll be our 'Secretary of Defense a.k.a. Putting A Boot In Somebody's Ass.'

And we'll have a yearly beer contest to pick a sponsor.

He also suffers from "High Hangers Disease." For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's when a person hangs their pictures so high, you need a stepstool to look at it.

As bad as that couch is, I have to give him small props as it seems he has a matching barcolounger on the left side of the picture.

RIS & KC, as one of your top advisors, I think Corona should be the first pick the first time around. Then we can switch it up every 6 months! Beer Festivals in the White House

Methinks Joe the Unlicensed Plumber needs some gays in his life to help him decorate.

Grimm can be our first guest of honor and can bring his hot date, Jennifer Aniston. HAHA. I keed!
