Default James Taylor schedules 5 free concerts for Barack Obama

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - James Taylor will play five free concerts in North Carolina as he tours the state to support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Taylor has concerts scheduled in Charlotte, Asheville, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Wilmington beginning Sunday. Taylor, who was raised in Chapel Hill, has at times used his musical celebrity to highlight political candidates in the state.
The Grammy winner will encourage Obama supporters to get out and vote early. One-stop voting begins Thursday in North Carolina.
Obama has been heavily investing in North Carolina to try and swing a state that hasn't voted for a Democratic president since 1976. Republican rival John McCain has been increasing his presence to defend the state.

I really think Obama will win NC. I know I see Obama signs EVERYWHERE. I have only seen TWO McCain signs, and that is no lie.

Yeah, I've only seen one McCain sign. Then again, this is Charlotte. It went for Kerry in 2004. The rural areas tend to be more Republican.

Do your parents live in NC, or are you just saying in general?
Tell them he's got it locked down. I really think he does.

My parents are originally from NC, and they moved back down there after they retired last year.

My father's planning to vote early, my mother's thinking of just waiting to Nov. 4. And I hope he does have NC locked down.

Are you saying that because you're a McCain supporter and you want the Obama voters to get a false sense of security? Hmmm?

I live in Raleigh and based on signage, it's a toss-up. 50/50 in my neck of the woods.

What the fuck are you talking about? Please show me where I stated I was a McCain supporter. If you would take your rose colored Obama glasses off, you would know that I have not supported either the whole time.

Just to clear it up for you though, since you seem so interested and ready to attack, I will support Obama. I just don't think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, like some of you do. You know, some of us can support someone, without being completely brainwashed. I can still support someone and question things that they do. I have enough sense to realize the man is only human, therefore he's not perfect and does wrong. Some of you think he walks on water.

Comedy, I still don't really care for either one, but I will vote for Obama. I think he is the safer vote.
