Default Why is Hilary Clinton givng Sarah Palin so much credit??

So, what did Hillary Clinton think about last night’s vice presidential debate?

In a phone interview today on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, she, of course, had raves for Joe Biden, but what about her thoughts on Sarah Palin?

Hillary on Biden: “Joe Biden was great. He put forward a flawless performance. I, like probably everybody else watching, was so moved by the authentic grief that caught in his throat when he talked about his own personal experience.” (During the debate, Biden got choked up while recalling a car accident that killed his wife and daughter and injured his sons.)

Hillary on Palin: “I think she’s very good. I always thought she would do well. It’s amazing. She’s been thrust into the national spotlight with very little preparation. All things considered, you saw a very composed and effective debater last night. The real issue is, who is better for America?”

Hillary chose her words carefully. She didn't say Palin was qualified, she just said she was an effective debater, despite having little preparation for the national spotlight. It was a backhanded compliment, but not a direct attack on Palin that McCain could spin.

Because if Hillary uses ANY negative words in regards to Palin it will be dismissed as 'sour grapes' or 'bitch' woman thing. She has to be very careful what she says about Palin.

Exactly. And if she spoke about Palin in glowing terms she would get slammed for being disloyal to Obama, and McCain would have a field day spinning it.

What a hard position for her, I can imagine. She's probably thinking Bill...I went through all this, campaign this hard, studied at the schools I attended and paved the way for women in politics in recent memory...for that hack from nowheresville with 17 people in it to be possibly the first female president?
