If Palin can't answer questions on both foreign policy and domestic affairs, she is unfit for the position she is seeking.

Palin can't answer questions on foreign or domestic policy, so being even-handed in the questions doesn't matter. And I'm getting sick of this let's treat Palin with kid-gloves attitude from the McCain camp. She's running to be Vice-President of the United States, not the head of the damn Harper Valley PTA.

A new tactic - the whining starting 3 days BEFORE the debate. I have never in my life heard the term "gotcha question" before we were introduced to Palin. It is ridiculous. I'm not a governor or politician but I could answer the supposed "gotcha" questions without sounding like a flipping idiot. I could also remember the 2-3 unwavering positions of the head of my ticket.

I can't wait until Thursday. If Palin's cram sessions are as disastrous as reported, it should be a cringe-fest.

How pathetic that McCain's latest tactic in his Strategery of Blunders is to purposely make his veep selection look so fucking stupid and inept, people will give her a pity passing grade on the debate if she manages to make as much sense as a 3 year old.

Seriously: I've never heard of any camp trying to dictate the run
of things as much as McSame's!!!!! "Let's stop campaigning",
"Let's stop and work on the economy NOW (after 26 years of
sitting on his hands)", "Let's do a townhall meeting format".

Precisely. This horseshit about "Gwen Ifill will have to answer for herself if she asks too many foreign policy questions Thursday night" is so damn ridiculous, I can't believe they're actually calling attention to it.

She's running for Vice-President of the United States of America - EVERYTHING is on the table. If you can't debate all issues, then you need to see the writing on the wall. It's not up to the moderator to make sure the questions are soft enough that you can argue cogently.

^^^Don't worry. IIRC, Ifill did a good job during the 2004 debates. She won't go easy on Lil' Fluffy Palin.

I believe there should be a list of questions drafted and placed into a box (A locked box haha). Then the moderator pulls a questions and asks if to whomever is next. Then they can't say they gave her all the hard questions, etc.

The funny thing about Palin being asked all the "hard" questions is that Biden can coherently answer them all. He's a skilled debater, but "levelling the playing field" for her doesn't do anyone any favors - least of all the American public, who might conceivably rely on the VP to be president one day.
