I'll try to keep this brief ...
The rumor about Sarah Palin not actually being the mother of Trig Palin, and the reality of her 17 y.o. daughter being pregnant are not issues we SHOULD be talking about. There are FAR more important issues, like poverty, environmental sustainability, corporate accountability, health care, illegal war, pollution, education, etc, etc, etc. However, neither McCain or Obama are dealing at any depth with real issues ... You'd have to look to Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader for that.
So why bring up more gossip when we already speak only in superificialities?
Because if you look at Sarak Palin's background and ideology, she is frighteningly uneducated, uninformed, inexperienced, and horrendously INSANE in her positions and ideas.
Will there be decent and in-depth public discourse about this problem? No.
Sometimes (often) reason, reality, rationality, and especially law, do not produce just results, so sometimes you just have to play "their" game to get results.
People are drawn to this gossip about Sarah's and her daughter's questionable pregnancies - myself included. If a cover-up about issues involving the pregnancies is revealved, and produces the result of halting a person like Sarah Palin from becoming VP or *gasp* President, then it may be the only way to stop her in her tracks, because real intellectual discourse will not. That does not happen in America (or at least, in American media).
