Barack Obama's statement on Bristol Palin
Per Fox News:
"If anyone on my campaign is spreading this issue, they will be fired.”
Good on ya, Barack. Now if only some of your supporters would do the same.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Full Statement:
“”Let me be a clear as possible: I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits,” Obama said, “and people’s children are especially off limits.
“This shouldn’t be part of our politics,” he continued, “It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a vice president.
“There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us. I hope I am as clear as can be - so in case I’m not, let me repeat: We don’t go after people’s families, we don’t get them involved in the politics. It’s not appropriate and it’s not relevant.”
“Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they’d be fired.”

Good job, Obama. Secretly enjoy your good fortune while publicly taking a hard line on it.

Perfect. He knows there's many volunteers out on the internet who
are great snoops. His campaign staff won't have to do anything,
it will all reveal itself as the sordid mess it is.
Spoken like a statesman.

Cool! Then I can say what I want about the scowling bitch on wheels called Michelle Obama, who makes HIllary look like a poodle. And watch out! When his girls hit puberty!
BTW, you do realize that you and the rest of his supporters who keep this up will only harm his campaign. Why the hell do you think he made the statement?

Obama made the statement because Republicans are trying to tie him to 'baby-gate,' as if he plotted this entire thing.

Wait a minute, why exactly is Michelle Obama a scowling bitch on wheels? There's no evidence or even rumors about questionable behavior or a scandal involving her like there is with Palin. If there were I certainly wouldn't expect Republicans to keep it quiet, that's just crazy. And you deny having a heated hatred for Obama. Unbelievable.

I actually thought about writing in when I was in the non-McCain camp.

That's my point! All this 'cuntrag, blah blah blah' for Sarah and her daughter is ridiculous. I was pointing out the silliness of SSDiva's 'I can do what I want' stance.
I personally don't give a flying fuck about Michelle Obama. Well, expect her choice in clothes. She could do better. But all of the candidates could. I DID care when there were 'rumors' about her using words like 'whitey'. But there was no credible evidence so its over.

I know this is a fun idea for everyone, but I honestly think Obama is decent and just means what he says. He has two daughters! He can empathize with this situation up close and personal. I think he is also right. I do not think he is at all enjoying this-it could rain down ill on every politician. There are politicians out there-and he is one, frankly I think McCain,too-that sees an attack on any candidates family as just too low to even contemplate. Families are hauled in for the ride and never really get a choice. They should be protected.

I haven't decided who I am voting for yet, but the supporters for both candidates are enough to turn you off. Dumb Ass Beauty Queen? Trollop Daughter? So, if your daughter gets pregnant then she is a whore? If your daughter is a whore then that makes you unsuitable to run this country? If so, Ronald Reagan should have never been elected because Patti could run with the best of them. Bill Clinton and JFK were both horn dogs. I think Obama is a wonderful speaker and I think he has some good ideas on how to get our country back on track and I have seen nothing about his wife to show that she wouldn't make a great first lady. However, no one brings up that his mentor and pastor for 20 years is a racist. If you do say anything then you are a racist. I don't hate any race of people and I don't hate Obama, but it bothers me that he has a mentor who seems to have a problem with white people. For McCain, he is too George Bushish for my taste. This country cannot take 4 more years like the last eight and Sarah Palin is not qualified to be VP. I am not impressed with either candidate.

Obama is taking the high road. He doesn't want the people to work with him to be associated with the issue.
As for us? The supporters of Obama? We can say whatever the fuck we want, because we aren't affiliated with the campaign, except when we vote for him in November.
Not wanting to be associated with it, is one thing. The Republicans aren't saying anything about it, because they're embarrassed about it all; they know it, we know it, the entire world knows it. McCain's senility has struck again, and the conservatives and Republicans would rather not admit that McCain has fucked up yet again, like you, TKDgirl. Because apparently, your hero can do no wrong, and the country is just fine! So is his decision! Right? RIGHT?

McCain my hero? Hardly. The only reason he's getting my vote is because of Palin. There were very few VPs he could have chosen that would have garnered my support. Palin was one of them. Jindal and Romney were the others. If you have been here long enough, it is quite established fact that I am not an ardent supporter of McCain's.
I still stand by his decision for Palin and still support the ticket.
