Question More superdelegates jump to Barack Obama

There's been a lot of superdelegate activity lately. We haven't been tracking all of them, but Obama is gaining on Clinton in that one category of delegates where she's always led. This morning, 2008 Democratic Convention Watch has Clinton's margin at 260 - 243, but that's going to change.

Today, we learn that a Clinton super, who used to run the DNC during the Bill Clinton era, is switching to Obama:

A leader of the Democratic Party under Bill Clinton has switched his allegiance to Barack Obama and is encouraging fellow Democrats to "heal the rift in our party" and unite behind the Illinois senator.

Joe Andrew, who was Democratic National Committee chairman from 1999-2001, planned a news conference Thursday in his hometown of Indianapolis to urge other Hoosiers to support Obama in Tuesday's primary, perhaps the most important contest left in the White House race. He also has written a lengthy letter explaining his decision that he plans to send to other superdelegates.

"I am convinced that the primary process has devolved to the point that it's now bad for the Democratic Party," Andrew said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

This is actually a very interesting development. Clinton's superdelegate strength has come from party insiders. Maybe we can actually wrap this thing up.

    doesn't matter...stick a fork in Obama, he's done.....

    He'll never be president now...

and if she's not an option either, then get used to President McCain....

    Hillary or bust? LOL

I think you over-estimate her electability. For that matter, if he's so unelectable as Hillary says, why is he kicking her ass all over the map? lol

    I don't over estimate.

My point was, she is not viable -thats ok.

But Obama had cut his own throat, and is not electable any longer. The average Joe 6 pack, that is needed to win, will never go over to him now.

So with him no good, and her no good- the dems no longer have a chance.

and as for him kicking her ass, if that were the case he'd have clinched the deal. He hasn't. She's behind, but not by all that much----and now she's gaining in NC- which was supposed to be his stronghold.

He's even getting called out by black leaders. The Pres of The New Black Panther Party was all over TV calling Obama a liar for distancing himself from Wright now.

So she's pulling an Obama in NC like he pulled a Hillary in PA, meh.

The average joe 6pack will go over to him once this silly contest is over and he can get down to business talking about what matters: the economy, jobs, iraq, and everything else. McSame won't stand a chance on that, because McSame is a fecking idiot who can't even tie his own shoes much less explain any kind of coherent economic policy.

No wonder. It is beginning to dawn on people Obama would have to spend half his time placating various egomanical black leaders who could care less about anything, other than how much media attention they get. I am pretty sure he would like to strangle quite a few. They have him in a damned if you do/damned if you don't situation.
