With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.

The senator was on a five-country tour of Africa.

"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?" questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

In December, the campaign asked one of its volunteer county coordinators in Iowa to step down after the person forwarded an e-mail falsely stating that Barack Obama is a Muslim.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe quickly accused the Clinton campaign Monday of 'shameful offensive fear-mongering' for circulating the snap.

Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams responds: "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed."

The problem, Mel, is that with Obama's history of Muslim denials, and various reports that he did indeed go to a madrasa (though he denies and says it was a public school that had 90% Muslims), the Clinton camp is doing this to fuel fears that Obama is a closet Muslim.

^^^^I really don't think he expects to win. Ever. I appreciate that he at least makes a case for the idea that people are sick and tired of and alienated by this corrupt two party system.

I respect what he has done for consumer's rights and making an issue our of consumer protection. We wouldn't have cars as safe as we do if it wasn't for his work.

What we need is a corrupt three or four party sytem to even things out!

Wow. Obama took a trip to Africa and dressed in traditional garb, like so many other politicians, including Hillary, have done. Now I believe he's Osama Bin Ladin. Keep shooting yourself in the foot, Hillary.

Hillary better be very careful. Her ties to the PLO and Yasser Arafat are well documented. I'm sure her Jewish constituency would be a bit peeved if they knew how close that relationship was when Billyboy was President.

Her record on Israel is there for anyone that wants to see it, and the Jewish Daily Forward says this about her:

New York’s junior senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is expected to snare the lion’s share of the Jewish community’s substantial political donations in the race for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

Democratic activists and operatives said Clinton will pull in large quantities of cash among Jewish donors not only because of what they described as her strong positions on Israel and domestic matters of interest to Jews, but also because of longtime ties with these activists dating back to her husband’s administration.

I hardly think her "jewish constituency" is in the dark about her supposed "ties" to the PLO. Anyone who understands NY politics - the state she represents, where she was re-elected knows this isn't true.

Hmmm... I wasn't referring to that kiss (though I think Hilly enjoyed it!). In the late 80s, Hillary helped fund and manage PLO front groups. When asked of the monies going to PLO groups in the West Bank, she disavowed herself from the activities, saying the monies were going elsewhere.

I'm just saying, if Hillary is going to throw rocks, she'd best be careful because there are a LOT of skeletons in her closet too. Not just Bill's.
