Finally, no more Palin, no more bible thumping rhetoric, and Tina Fey won't have to leave the planet. And soon, Bushie and Cheney and their minions will just be a bad memory. This is just so great, words fail me.

As an Iowan, I am very proud and honored that I had the priviledge to caucus and volunteer for Obama. To my core, I believe he is the pivotal change for our generation. This is our chance to run things. This is our chance to make it right.

I knew the implications of an Obama win tonite, but I didn't expect it to hit me as hard as it did. Excuse me for stumbling around words because I haven't the energy or care to be exact.

There was a man they interviewed who had been involved in the civil rights movement and they asked him what he felt and he couldn't come up with words. When they showed Jesse Jackson in the audience he seemed dumbstruck and alone and his face was streaked with tears and I felt that those were personal tears for him and what this meant to him on a personal level.

But back to that man interviewed. He said at one point that when he was a kid in school he remembered seeing the pictures of the president that lined above the chalk board. And never seeing a black face. I remembered those as well and how significant and important they seemed to me as a child. So this is how I see tonight.

And is it wrong of me to say this? Let me know. I really look forward to seeing members of the black community shining with joy over this for the next few weeks. Such an indulgence of their happiness? Is that wrong.

I can't believe Bush is over, free at last free at last, thank god almighty we are free at last has never been more compellingly beautiful.

I can't believe that tommorrow I'll wake up and this will all be true and not just a dream!

He will continue the war in Iraq.

    He will continue American Imperialism.

He will continue supporting the police state.

He will continue supporting being molested at airports.

    Either candidate would.

I'd like to hope that there will be hope, and that things will change, but the parties just volley power back and forth, and it is all the same. Neither promote true liberty.
