Obama beat the old fart into the floor tonight! McCain rambled and doddered around on that stage like he was really nervous. I thought this format was supposed to be his specialty? He looked and sounded like a man twenty years older than he is....and that ain't good, folks!

My husband calls McCain and Palin 'Cotton and Peggy Hill'. They do look like Cotton and Peggy at that....McCain seems to be a cranky old man like Cotton and Palin sounds as self absorbed and overconfident in herself as Peggy Hill!!

ETA: I found this picture of the cast of King Of The Hill.....see if you can spot McCain (Cotton) and Palin (Peggy).

What in the hell was McCain doing doddering around the stage while it was Obama's time to respond? There was one point at least where McCain wandered up in the middle of the stage while Obama was talking, made some faces and gestures at someone off stage, and then slowly wandered back.

McCain never said a thing beyond his "America is strong, American workers are strong, American soldiers are strong" vagueness.

The hair plugs joke? Awful! Disrespectful and it just fell flat.

Verdicts are that Obama took the debates big time.

Late to the party....just watching the rerun--and getting all the action from this thread! Carry on...but i will say that McCain's arms ARE abnormally short!

McCain really acted like the old fool he is!
He and his scary wife rushed out of there and the Obamas stayed and talked with the people.

One thing that I didn't like after watching the rerun of the debate was that Tom Brokaw seemed to cut McCain a lot of slack. It was obvious who Brokaw is supporting. He seemed to show the same bias that McCain accused Gwen Ifill of potentially showing against Palin.

^I was thinking Brokaw was under constrain by the rules and McCain being the one who was seeming to go over and over his allotment.

^^I think he just cut McCain a little too much leeway when it came to the time. He got on Obama about time more than he did McCain.

I like how Obama is posing with the audience for pictures.

Did McCain just deny Obama a hand shake?!
Yes, he did. He let his wife do the honors. Bastard.

And here's an article about his "that one" reference. Read the comments on the forum! Political Radar: Debating McCain Reference to "That One"

he's nauseating. I'll never forget him fawning over geedubya the night that he was declared winner of the 2000 election. Very biased and unprofessional, every since then I can't watch him.

I was watching Fox News today and they were claiming that most of the emails they got said that McCain won. I've never watched Fox News before and OMG are they whack jobs. They're trying to link Obama to some voter fraud thing in Nevada and to Ayers again. They're on there patting McCain on the back

I'm curious. How did Bush get the name Dubya? Is it just a GR thing or do other people call him that?

The moment that most sticks out for me last night is when Obama was saying how Mccain states he's responsible, somber, etc. and Mccain gloated saying, Thank you, even standing up a little straighter and then Obama hit him with, but you were the one who sang about BOMB BOMB BOMBing Iran and called for the annihilation of North Korea.

    Owned.

    Mccain's entire demeanor changed.

I guess "THAT ONE" actually did know a little something.

McOld was talking about "his vision for America" and I was thinking to myself, your vision, your rallies have people yelling out for others to kill your rival. This man is despicable.

And you know what? His age really really showed last night.

^^ Dubya, country slang for the letter "W" as in George W (Dubya) Bush.

I think the media made it up. It also resonates with how he sounds... stupid
