I think the first thing we need to stop doing is giving them financial aid. Israel currently gets 30% of all US Foreign aid, a nation with a higher standard of living gets aid from us that we can sorely afford to give now. Right before Hurricane Katrina they were asking for an additional 2 billion dollars but withdrew that request post hurricane and only recently asked for 1.2 billion instead. We've given them what amounts to 134 billion total through the years. For what? So they can attack and oppress their neighbors? Looks like it to me.

We need to stop the aid, insist that Israel make peace with their neighbors and hold them accountable for human rights violations and violations of the UN accords.

Well Israel can't make peace with neighbors that are not really willing to make peace with it, now can they? And I do not think Israel has a higher standard of living than the US. Although I agree we are giving them too much aid.and have over the years. I guess we inadvertently(or not?) funded their nuclear program..since they have what..some 200 nukes(at least)..*sigh* This whole issue is shitty and muddled and rife with spite, greed, corruption, bigotry, ancient religious hatreds..just about everything that could possibly stink is involved in this struggle..and all over 'Holy Land'. Very sad.

Maybe they don't include foreign aid as part of Gross domestic product? that is what is coming up,,(I checked a number of sources. it is easy to figure out anyway which I will do after looking up what we give and the population there..no big deal the whole place is sickening and I am almost to the point of where Grimm is...just let them ALL die over there and blow eachother up!

Also the figure for GDP is correct. And even five billion in US financial Aid is not that much..Israel has a Gross National Product of nearly 125 billion...so our Aid would be less than 5 percent of that even if we gave them 5 billion a year..

Well 1) Israel is engaged in a brutal occupation that serves no purpose.

Hmmm....although I'm not on with Hezbollah, Hamas, etc kidnapping soldiers or bombing towns, Israel does tend to go a bit overboard in its responses (and don't even get me started on the 'pullout' of Gaza...which simply meant control from afar) but it is refreshing to see Fox get what's coming to them.
