Default Fox news 'hold' music....GUESS WHO??

Because the few moments before your weekend begins are usually the longest minutes of your life, a handy time-waster courtesy of a reader:

I just had to call Fox News. Their hold music is actually George Bush giving a speech about Ronald Reagan. He tells all these boring anecdotes about Nancy writing on Air Force One stationary, etc. What blatant asslickingI feel slightly dirty right now!
For a good time, call 212-301-3000. $4.50 the first minute, $2.95 for each additional minute.

It's mind-boggling, isn't it? They are so blatantly partisan that it makes me ill.

The scary thing is that all the neo cons I know think that they are the only unbiased news source. Nothing like having someone tell you only exactly what you wish to hear.

And to think Fox News could'nt get any more obvious about their right-wingness. "Fair and balanced" my ass.

    How big a Sunday-school b!tch was/is Nancy Reagan?

One of my favorite authors once took a flight with Nancy Reagan
(aboard AFO, apparently), and during take-offs Nancy used to roll
an orange up the aisle of the plane to see how smoothly it rolled.
If the orange bounced around too much the pilots would hear about it.

Nancy should stick to pill-popping and the bloody pilots do their job. That is a woman with too much time and too little power. But I bet there are those who would find something to admire about this, probably attributing it to her having such high 'standards'.

well, considering that nbc, cbs, abc, and cnn are unabashed mouthpieces for the left, who cares? so conservatives have their preferred news station and it happens to have more viewers than any other news program or station..it sounds like sour grapes to me.

this is my perception of cnn, nbc, abc, and cbs news. i can't stand to watch the news anchors literally sneer when they talk about anything bush-related. not to mention how bush is only "mr. bush," yet they still refer to "president clinton." if that isn't any obvious indication of bias, i don't know what is.

personally, i am glad that fox news even exists. at least i *have* a choice of viewpoints to watch now and don't want to end a newsprogram by punching the anchor in the face. don't like fox? don't watch it. it has the right to disseminate info as much as the next network. and at least they try to put forth other viewpoints, like alan colmes, etc. there isn't one conservative talk show/commentator who i can name from NBC, for example. even on their round table shows.

and don't even get me started on C-BS...dan rather was about as blatant about his liberal views as they come. he regularly attended public democratic fundraisers. and we can pretend that *he* of all people was fair and unbiased? rathergate, anyone? *coughs*

i think we have all had this discussion before, but there really is no such thing as a fair and impartial media because it's made up of people with opinions and agendas. so, if you are going to bash fox, you might as well lump all of the other networks in as well. or maybe it's just that you don't, because those mouthpieces spout exactly what you happen to want to hear. but, to me, their biases are evident and obvious as fox's.

fox was just smart enough to recognize that they had a huge untapped audience. how else do you explain their success and the demise of big three news? like it or not, relative to the american population, liberals are the minority in america right now. all you need to do is look at our federal elected government and it should be obvious. the majority has spoken, and they choose fox news.

There is not another network that comes close to being as biased as Fox.

As far as Fox putting out 'information' I think that's debatable. They disseminate falsehoods on a regular basis. Christ, they're still trying to make the case for WMD's and a connection between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein!! And please, Alan Colmes is just a mild conservative, as opposed to a rabid conservative like most of the people on Fox.

Myth of the liberal media again.

I've never seen any convincing evidence that those networks have a left-wing bias, though the Outfoxed documentary proves beyond doubt that Fox has a right-wing bias.

You said it, disruptive. Fox is incredibly one sided, as are most, if not all media owned by Rupert Murdoch. Check out the hard swing to the right of the NY Post since he scooped that one up. And you know what? I don't even think he does it on an idealistic basis. I think he does it because he wants to acquire more and the way to do that is to suck up to those in power or those willing to grease the wheels of commerce for him. Look how he's sucked up to the Chinese in hopes of getting Sky allowed over there.
