Glenn Beck urges listeners to leave churches that preach social justice

Later, Beck held up cards, one with a hammer and sickle and other with a swastika. "Communists are on the left, and the Nazis are on the right. That's what people say. But they both subscribe to one philosophy, and they flew one banner. . . . But on each banner, read the words, here in America: 'social justice.' One really has to wonder just how far this guy can go before his dumbassed listeners start to realize he's completely bonkers. Seriously, a church that preaches social justice is a commie church?

Well, coming from a very liberal oriented graduate studies program I can tell you that 'social justice' is actually a code phrase for a communist like way of life when it's coming from someone who believes all men, white people, Americans, and Christians are the enemy. I'm not suggesting that's what 'social justice' means to everyone....that isn't what it means to me. But it isn't far off when coming from folks who feel the only way to make the world better is to make some people pay more taxes than others, to penalize the wealthy for being wealthy, or to make men/whites get passed over for jobs they deserve now in order to even out the unfair advantages they've had for most of the past. There are some people who believe in that.

I was channel-flipping the other night and caught a couple minutes of Glenn getting all verklempt talking about Al Gore is telling the youth of America not to listen to their parents.
He played a quote where Al told kids that they probably know more about some things than their parents.
FFS, what a cry baby he is.

^^I don't. I find most people, in normal situations, will go out of their way to help others, even if it's inconvenient for them. But maybe I've jsut lived a charmed life.

Yes, general welfare is in the Constitution. God is not.
Jesus preached social justice. I guess by Beck's standards he's a commie.
I can't decide whether Beck is just stupid and being used, or whether he really knows what he's doing. Either way, it's scary that so many people listen to him.

No, I agree with you that most people will try to help in an immediate situation. But when you start trying to tell people you want more of their money (which they feel they need and are entitled to) to give to other people they don't even know on a regular basis, most are going to balk.
