When I was about 5 my mum and dad told me to go and play in the dining room which is next to the living room with sliding doors in the middle. I have no idea what the film was that they were watching, it wasn't a porn but it had sex scenes in it and lots of violence. I only saw because I was watching through the slight crack I had left in the sliding doors

Well the first film to really scare me wasn't even an "R" rated film (or X rated / 18 whatever) Please don't laugh or take the mick, It was the Gremlins They scared the absolute crap out of me!!!!, I was only 6 or 7 but I still feel uncomfortable watching that film because of the memories!

The first 18 I saw was The Excorcist and that also got me petrified. I was about 12 this time. Oh the nightmares.

Believe it or not, JAWS is only rated PG.

That was my first scary movie, too, and still one of my all time favs.

American Gigolo - I was 13 or 14, and my mother kicked me out of the house when she found out! It only lasted 2 weeks, but it was worth it to see a "dirty movie" back then.

I saw Jaws not long after The Terminator.. it as on TV, i got my parents to tape it for me.. watched it the next night all alone in the dark..

Scared me SHITLESS to the point where i told them to erase the tape and throw it out. To this day, i'm PETRIFIED of sharks attacking me if I swim in the ocean, i can never relax.

Hmm, not sure on the timeframes, but I saw The Terminator, Silence of the Lambs and Schindler's List all at a young age, with my dad.

The first serious attempt I made to get in one was
Apocalypse Now when I was 15. Unfortunately, with my
12-year-old's upper body and patchy chin stubble, I really
really looked 15, and my friends and I were denied entry.

The first one I saw on pay-TV was Conan the Barbarian.
    Man, that rocked...

^ watched Apocalypse Now tonight. I was too tired though, I was drifting off during the first hour. Loved it though. Only problem is I just know my teacher's gonna ask why Brando was kept in almost full shadow the whole time and it wasn't anything artistic based on what I found online. He just showed up for filming 40kg heavier than he was supposed to be and they had to hide it. I hate my film professor, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

^^ The cinematographer, Vittorio Storario, used that movie as a way to
contrast natural and man-made light to illustrate the conflict that men
bring to places. When they're going up the river, the sky is always
beautifully lit, but the combat scenes and the scenes at the supply
depot (near the bridge) were lit with harsh white light and everything
    was covered with blinding glare.

You know y'all (tee hee, trying to sound all American) I actually remember my mum letting me watch all the creepy movies at an age when I shouldn't have. I'd watched freddy, halloween, psycho, the birds, silence of the lambs, the amytiville horror, the haunting, etc etc... when I was really young. No wonder I had so many nightmares!
